Swedish Pineapple Cake

Basic pantry staples and fast and easy preparation are turned into a very moist, delicious cake. This cake has become a family favorite and is requested by everyone when talk turns of birthday cake choices. Even better the day after.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
CAKE:
2 cups sugar
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flours
1 cup chopped pecans
ICING:
1 - 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1 stick margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
DIRECTIONS
CAKE:


In large bowl, mix all cake ingredients thoroughly by hand.


Pour into ungreased 13" x 9" glass cake pan.


Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.


ICING:


Put cream cheese, margarine, and sugar in food processor and process until smooth.


Add chopped nuts and process until mixed.


Allow cake to cool for 5-10 minutes, then pour icing on cake and spread evenly.
