French Toast & Fresh Strawberries

4 servings (serving size: 2 slices)

ingredients

  • 2 cups cream or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 large eggs
  • 8 Italian bread slices (1 inch thick)
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries cut in half, then tossed with 1/2 cup powdered sugar

directions

Blend the cream, sugar, vanilla and eggs to make a batter.

Dip the Italian bread slices into the batter until well soaked. Cook on a griddle or in a frying pan until golden on both sides of each slice.

Top with fresh berries.
