Maybe you've never considered cooking broccoli this way, but roasting yields surprisingly good results. The heat concentrates the flavors and caramelizes the natural sugars. A touch of olive oil gives it a crispy, delicious finish.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
4 cups  broccoli florets
1 tablespoon  extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon  salt, or to taste
Freshly ground pepper
Lemon wedges

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 450°F. Toss broccoli with oil, salt and pepper. Place on a large baking sheet (not air-insulated) and roast until the broccoli is tender and blackened on the bottom, 10 to 12 minutes. Serve immediately, with lemon wedges.

Good... but needs some additional tips on prep
I threw all the broccoli into a bowl, dumped in the spices, then added the olive oil. Problem was the spices don't spread around well, they get stuck in the crowns just on the pieces initially coated. I will make again, this time I'll add oil first, stir, add some spice, stir, add more spice, stir, etc. Wasn't a big fan of the lemon or I would have given 5 stars. I won't use lemon next time. Now butter... or maybe lemon butter!
