If you are a Good Eats fan, while reading this book, you will actually be able to here Alton Brown in your head and the way he writes it, you actually start to picture his mannerisms just like he does in his show when trying to make a point or explain something. I would definitely give this book 5+ stars for overall composition and useful information. A must buy for anyone who doesn't really know what they need in the kitchen and for those that have too much in the kitchen.

I was on the road to kitchen inefficiency, but with this book as my guide, I'm on my way to actually enjoying working in an efficient and fun kitchen.

Yes | No Report Violation »I got this book in order to learn what pots and pans are the best to have in a kitchen but I also wanted to know what pan/pot is used to cook what food. Example, I learned that 3 frying pans are essential for each kitchen - cast iron, stainless steel and non-stick. What foods are cooked in which ones? Ideally, this is what I needed to be told and what I thought would be the book, too. So, I guess I need another book.

We were overwhelmed by the amt of options for kitchens "tools". The books explains whats a good idea and what is a waste of money, etc. He loves the book.

It was so useful we almost brought it to the store to buy kitchen accessories. There are also a few recipes intermingled which is nice as well. (the baked meatballs are fantastic)

The must haves and don't bothers would have been even more awesome if I hadn't already mis-invested so much. I really am impressed at how well his fun and funny TV personality translated into print. This book is a MUST HAVE item for any aspiring foodie or some one who just wants an efficient and comprehensive kitchen.
