  • I bought this as a gift for my wife to use in the kitchen.
I am impressed by it's simplistic, clean design.
My wife likes the accuracy of the scale and is pleased that it is easy to use.

    I recommend this product.

  • Now I see why they use these in Europe!

I originally purchased this scale to simplify breadmaking -- rather than measure out over four cups of flour, I like the simplicity of pouring it in until the mass is correct. Since then, however, I've come to prefer cooking with weights instead of volumes, and I now know why my friend in Ireland is so fond of measuring with her kitchen scale. I use it for flour, butter (and can now buy butter in bulk, I don't need the measurement paper!), spices, all sorts of things. My husband expected this to be one of those kitchen tools that goes up on a high shelf 95% of the time, but we are using it almost every time we cook.

The scale measures either English or Metric units, and is simple to use. It tares quickly, measures accurately, and is simple to clean. My only critique is that the buttons are a little bit small, but that does not impair the use.

    I recommend this product.

  • it measures in ounces but in fractions! I wanted grams, so this product wasn't helpful. It looks great though. I returned it for a european model, which does measure in grams and ouces and is in decimals which is more accurate than fractions.

  • The Last Scale

Finally. The last scale I hope to purchase! This is an exceptional value and product. Easy to use right out of the box. Stylish as well and remains right on top of the kitchen counter.

  • High Quality Product

We've only used this scale for a few days, but its compact portability and simplicity make it seem a valuable addition to our kitchen. It stores well, either with my wife's cookbooks, or in the cabinet with boxed goods, taking very little space. If the unit proves as durable as it looks, I'm sure that we will be quite pleased with my/our purchase. I might wish for 1/10th oz. read-out rather than 1/8th, but the difference is small, and not of concern.

    I recommend this product.

  • Great scale

After watching Alton Brown tout the benefits of a kitchen scale for years, I finally decided to invest in one. This one is great--it gives accurate measurements, has a tare button to add additional items to the same bowl by weight, and best of all is slim and contemporary and stores on its side. I'd buy it again.

  • THIS IS A MUST IN EVERY KITCHEN.

We buy in large quantities at Sam's Club. We then divide the meat into 1 and 2 pound freezer bags, pasta into 8oz and 16 oz. etc. This scale converts easily from solid to liquid measurements and just as easily from engish to metric. I was a little sceptical spending the extra money for this model, but now am very happy that I did. It stands up on its back end for stoage in a slim space about the size of a cookbook and is very easy to clean. Hardly a day goes by without using it. My only Con about this scale is that you cannot use a full size plate to weigh anything because the rim covers up the display, but even large mixing bowls work perfectly.

  • Aquatronic Kitchen Scale by Salter

I am an Alton Brown fan. I fell in love with his digital scale. The scale Alton Brown uses on his show, however, is German-made and a lot more expensive that the Salter. After some comparison shopping, I ordered the Salter. I've used it a couple of times already and I am very pleased with my decision.

  • Perfect Kitchen scale

I find more and more recipes requiring measuring by weight. After many years of measuring by cups, tablespoons and teaspoons I thought it would be difficult adjusting to measuring by weight. This scale now has made me a convert, measuring by weight is best (Alton Brown would be proud of me).

  • Indispensible for bread-making!

With the price of bread these days, I am going back to the trusty bread machine. This scale weighs all ingredients so accurately that I do not have to fuss with the dough, like adding water or flour while it is kneading. I especially like the feature which allows you to weigh both wet and dry ingredients with a simple button change . It automatically subtracts the weight of the container so you get only the weight of the ingredient--so convenient.

  • I haven't actually used this particular model as it was a gift. I can say without hesitation that I purchased a Salter scale (different model) for myself and have been very pleased with this product - I use it dailly and would purchase again without hesistation. This scale is an upgrade from the one I have so I can only assume that it is at least as good as the one that I have.

I purchsed this scale for home use and was very satisfied with the unit. It is easy to use and will weigh any item in either oz or grams depends on which recipe you are using. Adding items to a container is easy with the zero (tare)button conveniently located.
