This ideal everyday pan does it all! It is wide and angled, which allows you to stir and toss without spilling. The pan includes a glass lid to monitor cooking, and is also good for steaming and braising. Both the vessel and lid are oven safe up to 500 degrees F and the smooth enameled bottom works on all stovetops. Cooking with cast iron is also a healthier way to cook.

Favored by amateurs and great chefs alike, the interior surface has nonstick properties and requires no seasoning before the first use. Made in France, each piece is truly one of a kind. The matte black enameled interior has a slightly rough texture for exceptional browning. This texture provides the ideal surface for searing, roasting and caramelizing food. The high-quality enamel offers superior resistance to thermal shocks, scratching and discoloration, making it easy to care for and even easier to use. Staub has three coats of enamel with a smooth finish on the bottom to avoid scratching and it works on all stovetops. Staub is the premier cookware line preferred by finest restaurants around the world. Safe for use in dishwasher, although hand washing recommended.

For centuries, cooks have taken advantage of the natural heat retention and redistribution properties of cast iron. Cast iron retains whatever temperature it’s exposed to. The vessel will stay hot longer when exposed to heat and it will stay cool longer when placed in the refrigerator. We love our cast-iron pans for warm comfort food and cool summer salads!

  • NOT non-stick!

This is a very well-made product. But I was looking for a 'forever' skillet that I could use every day. It is NOT non-stick or even close to it! I followed the instructions carefully about oiling it prior to its first use, and I oil it before using it as well. Food sticks to this pan. I dropped chicken tenders into it 2 days ago to sear and then quickly cook. They stuck to the pan badly. I had to tear them from the bottom of the pan to turn them. This is not what I was looking for. Additionally, the bottom of the pan is much smaller than I thought it would be. I use the small burner on my stove to heat it. I'm not happy with paying this much for a new skillet and not being that happy with it. I shopped a lot before I purchased this pan. I'm considering sending it back.

  • Pan was returned

I returned the pan because it was obvious even before I opened the box that the box had been opened previously and re-taped. When I opened the box I found that the pan had been used. The pan itself was not clean and the lid was covered with water spots and finger prints. The return process was frustrating. I was instructed to take and send pictures before a return label would be issued. I was given a name and designated email, but when I called back I could not speak to the representative with whom I had started the process. I did finally speak to a very pleasant man who made arrangements for the pan to be picked up at my home. I had expected to receive a replacement, but have not as yet gotten it.

  • Staub Enamel Cast Iron Perfect Pan (12-inch)

This pan is a winner. The only squabble would be the few chips at the top of the pan. Since the pan was purchased as a gift, it would have been better if there had been no imperfections. The pan is an excellent size in which to prepare a one-pot meal for a single person or a couple. I will be purchasing one for myself!

    I recommend this product.
