This book is the closest I will ever get to the old hardcover I had back in the 70s. I made the mistake of lending it out a few years ago and never got it back. This book is a great value, but I do miss some of the old recipes. I am less interested in the modern shortcuts than the old "from scratch" methods.

Love this cook book

this is a must have for every kitchen, has all the basics + more. Have been using the Betty Crocker cook book for many years and mine was recently damaged so I purchased a new one to replace it immediately.

After 32 years I finally replaced mine

While shopping for a bridal shower present for my future daughter-in-law I came upon this paperback copy of the latest Betty Crocker. I picked up this one for me and a hard copy up for her. Now I have the best of two worlds. The comfort of my old tried and true recipes, I've used through 32 years of marriage. Plus the benifit of some updated recipes for this generation with the newest version. I hope the new bride enjoys her copy as much as I did as a newlywed.

For My Granddaughter

I originally bought the 50's cookbook for my granddaughter because that's where my mother got a lot of her wonderful recipes. In conversation with her I asked her how she liked the cookbook. She told me it wasn't like any cookbook she ever saw. The pictures, the instructions, the terminology was so different. I knew then that I should have bought the latest edition. That's why I bought this one. I read through it and told myself this is better for this generation. I also loved the book. Time changes everything! I guess I was trapped in the 50's!

Cookbook Replacement

I bought this cookbook to replace an older BC cookbook from the 1980's that was falling apart. The new one is a bit different from the older one but had some of the same things that I liked. I am sure that as I use this one, it will soon become my favorite.
