Whether you're preparing the turkey for a family holiday gathering or trying out a new roast brisket recipe, the Granite Ware Black 21- x 14-in. Large Covered Roaster delivers reliable performance for any roasting task. It is spacious enough to cook multiple chickens at once, and it can handle turkeys weighing up to 25 pounds, so it is ideal for times when you're feeding a crowd. The steel core produces an even level of heat distribution that browns meat across the entire surface, so you get photo-worthy results that taste as good as they look. The black color of the pan absorbs heat to maximize the potential of your oven and reduce cooking times. Pop the lid onto the pan to retain moisture and heat, or flip it over to use it as a second roasting pan for vegetables or a casserole and cook multiple parts of your meal at once. The enamel surface is naturally nonstick and doesn't absorb flavors and odors, so cleanup is simple. Plus, the entire pan is dishwasher safe. You can use any type of utensils with this pan, including metal, silicone and wood pieces. Two convenient handles let you move the roaster between your oven and the table quickly and easily, and it is lightweight enough to carry with ease both empty and full. This pan is made in the U.S.A. at the same Indiana facility where all Granite Ware cookware has been produced since 1901.

The Granite Ware 25 lb. covered roaster is not like the enamel pans of my youth. I have used this roaster to roast, simmer and stew poultry and meat. Each time the meat is browned, tender, juicy and nothing sticks to the sides or bottom. The cleanup is a dream. I appreciate the light weight, the ability to use either piece as a bottom and the that I can use both pieces as a roaster when everyone gathers for the holiday.
I purchased this pan, one for myself & one for my friend, to use for cooking whole briskets up to 4 at one time. Unfortunately the lid, for the one I received, seems to be a little narrow b/c it does not sit secure which allows all of the steam escape. I'm unsure if this is a poor design or if I just received a bad lid. I'm contemplating asking the seller to ship me another one & allow me to return the first one at no cost to me. For the price, the pan is great for cooking large quanities & clean up was easy. I will try to use the pan again in the future although I may have to cover the pan with foil instead of using the lid.
I never knew it would be so hard to find a large covered turkey roaster PAN, but i did here at Cooking.com. Used just last week for our 22 pound Thanksgiving bird, and it turned out great. Browned it to perfection not to mention the bird fell appart and SO was very tender and juicy.
Thanks again Cooking.com
We ordered this for a Christmas gift for our son. He hasn't used yet of course but we know he will enjoy it in the years to come. Thanks for your prompt service & delivery. We have you in our favorites!
First I purchased a new roasting rack and when I received it, it did fit into anything I had. A few weeks later this roaster popped up on the website and the measurements were perfect. This worked out great because I didn't have to do a return on the rack. My mother-in-law had the same roaster and she used it for everything.
There was not much info about the roaster other than great reviews. I grew up with a granite ware pan for turkeys etc. we always made gravy in pan which roast etc. was cooked. I was surprised that one of the few instructions with pan said not to use on glass cok top. Having 18 people for dinner I did not want to find out why you were not supposed to. I would not have purchased this if I had known it. The turkey came out fine but was messy having to transfer turkey juice grease to a other pan for gravy.
A Granite Ware roaster, penny for penny and pound for pound is the "Best" roaster on the market. Yesy there are similar products on the market, but they easily dent, and chip making them useless. The one I bought, was a replacement for one that I sent to our Church with a Thanksgiving Turkey (2009) in it. Starnge as it may seem, everyone enjoyed the turkey and "Someone" even enjoyed my roaster because it hasn't been seen since. That particular one was 20+ years old..
We had last minute guests for Thanksgiving this year - and they are the gourmet kind. There was no way I could prepare the right kind of dinner with my old cooking stuff. Checked on cooking.com and they happened to have this on special offer guaranteed delivery the day before T'giving. It came on time, it was big enough and it made a fabulous turkey. Maple and orange glaze. The lid keeps everything nice and moist and it really is non- stick, easy to clean. Great investment!
I enjoyed cooking our turkey with this pan this year, the turkey turned Out better than ever, according to my family. I like the pan because It is spacious & fairly light weight. The only reason I cannot give it a 5 , Is because I don't feel the lid sits on the pan very evenly, The advantage of the lid is that it can be used as a separate pan. I would buy the pan again
I was skeptic about this holding a 25lb turkey but it did and baked much better and faster than the older one we have had for years. also I didn't have a problem with the broth seeping out into the oven and making a real mess. I liked the way its made so that it can double as 2 separate roasters.
This roaster is excellent in every way it can be used. My husband and I had been looking for a turkey roaster. When I found this one I showed it to him and we both agreed to buy right away. So glad we did we love it. It has so much room. We will certainly be using for years to come on all kinds of recipes. Getting one for my Mom who makes tamales.
My mom had one that i used and it got a small hole in it and I have been looking for one for months, by the way hers was 60 years old. Then I went to cooking.com and it was that I found it and it was the best purchase I made I baked my Easter ham in it and it was the best ever.
This is the best thing for doing a super large bird never thought I could find a roaster this big anywhere. It really paid off to search your web page. Now I will be able to cook one bird instead of two for Thanksgiven this year.
The roasting pan was the best product I've purchased so far. The pan was big enough for my turkey and vegetables. Didn't have to use to 2 pans this year. Thanx very much. Will purchase other items in the near furture.
