A little flimzy for the price

I tried to julienne sweet potatoes and the entire cutting unit bowed. I was not using the small julienne setting, but the larger one.
The cutting blades would barely cut through the sweet potato and several times I was afaid I'd end up cutting myself even though I was using the safety guard.
So I'm not real impressed with the quality of a product which goes for such a price tag.
Mandolin for the masses.

Easy to use, convenient to store with its folding legs. The instruction book is great. The design makes it safe to use and a snap to clean. Buy this one.

Love the design of the OXO Mandoline it has great grips that help to keep the slicer in place as well as the hand grip is big which makes it easy to hold. Having the blades on a rotater is wonderful as I do not have to change out blades when cutting different items, also makes cutting quicker. Pieces are easy to clean, as they slide right out & back in.

Doesn't slice as well as I'd like. I use it to cut cucumbers for pickles and to make julienne fries with potatoes or sweet potatoes. The ripple cutter is too small to make waffle fries. The disk to hold and push the food through ends up gouging the food and doesn't hold it well at all. I end up using my hand and will probably cut myself one day.
