The Granite Ware 25 lb. covered roaster is not like the enamel pans of my youth. I have used this roaster to roast, simmer and stew poultry and meat. Each time the meat is browned, tender, juicy and nothing sticks to the sides or bottom. The cleanup is a dream. I appreciate the light weight, the ability to use either piece as a bottom and the that I can use both pieces as a roaster when everyone gathers for the holiday.
great roaster, great value. did a 22lb turkey at 325, did not baste, did not open lid. used a convection oven, done (185) in 3 hrs. moist and browned perfect.
I purchased this pan, one for myself & one for my friend, to use for cooking whole briskets up to 4 at one time. Unfortunately the lid, for the one I received, seems to be a little narrow b/c it does not sit secure which allows all of the steam escape. I'm unsure if this is a poor design or if I just received a bad lid. I'm contemplating asking the seller to ship me another one & allow me to return the first one at no cost to me. For the price, the pan is great for cooking large quanities & clean up was easy. I will try to use the pan again in the future although I may have to cover the pan with foil instead of using the lid.

We have one or two of these for cooking big family meals and are very pleased with them the way this one was shipped was great as these are easly chip and the way this was package there was no way that was gong to happen great job.....
This roaster was purchased to replace a similar roaster that had reached its end of life. The picture led me to believe that it was the same exact size, but it was larger than the one I was replacing. This wasn't an issue since we tend to roast a large turkey for Thanksgiving and this unit can easily handle a very big bird. We will definitely get some good use out of this new roaster.
I am so happy to have found this roaster WITH lid. There are others roasters out there at a much higher price but with no lid and the size of this one. Well, there are a few out there but very expensive. We cooked our turkey inthis and it was outstanding. I actually ordered this roaster with lid because of the Party Mix I make. My 40 year old roaster with lid doesn't work any longer. One of the handles has broken off the lid. The handles on this roaster are there to stay. Very good value!
I never knew it would be so hard to find a large covered turkey roaster PAN, but i did here at Cooking.com. Used just last week for our 22 pound Thanksgiving bird, and it turned out great. Browned it to perfection not to mention the bird fell appart and SO was very tender and juicy. Thanks again Cooking.com
First I purchased a new roasting rack and when I received it, it did fit into anything I had. A few weeks later this roaster popped up on the website and the measurements were perfect. This worked out great because I didn't have to do a return on the rack. My mother-in-law had the same roaster and she used it for everything.
There was not much info about the roaster other than great reviews. I grew up with a granite ware pan for turkeys etc. we always made gravy in pan which roast etc. was cooked. I was surprised that one of the few instructions with pan said not to use on glass cok top. Having 18 people for dinner I did not want to find out why you were not supposed to. I would not have purchased this if I had known it. The turkey came out fine but was messy having to transfer turkey juice grease to a other pan for gravy.
I am very happy to get this roaster. I had one for over 48 years that I picked up used from a garage sale. The finish was all worn off and I didn't think it was food safe any more, so I purchased this from Paula Deen store. I was so happy to find this on line because none of my local stores carried this product. I can't wait to use it for the first time. It is a great way to cook turkey. The best I have ever had.
I bought this pan for my son and daughter-in-law because they kept borrowing mine and mine is an oldie from my grandmother and I didn't want it to get lost or ruined. This came in less than a week and they have used it 3 times since Thanksgiving. They love it!! It's heavy duty and they've used it to cook thier turkey and a couple of hams in. Wonderful product.
A Granite Ware roaster, penny for penny and pound for pound is the "Best" roaster on the market. Yesy there are similar products on the market, but they easily dent, and chip making them useless. The one I bought, was a replacement for one that I sent to our Church with a Thanksgiving Turkey (2009) in it. Starnge as it may seem, everyone enjoyed the turkey and "Someone" even enjoyed my roaster because it hasn't been seen since. That particular one was 20+ years old..
Thank You Granite Ware and Cooking.com
We had last minute guests for Thanksgiving this year - and they are the gourmet kind. There was no way I could prepare the right kind of dinner with my old cooking stuff. Checked on cooking.com and they happened to have this on special offer guaranteed delivery the day before T'giving. It came on time, it was big enough and it made a fabulous turkey. Maple and orange glaze. The lid keeps everything nice and moist and it really is non- stick, easy to clean. Great investment!
I enjoyed cooking our turkey with this pan this year, the turkey turned
Out better than ever, according to my family. I like the pan because
It is spacious & fairly light weight. The only reason I cannot give it a 5 ,
Is because I don't feel the lid sits on the pan very evenly, The advantage of the lid is that it can be used as a separate pan.
I would buy the pan again
I was skeptic about this holding a 25lb turkey but it did and baked much better and faster than the older one we have had for years. also I didn't have a problem with the broth seeping out into the oven and making a real mess.
I liked the way its made so that it can double as 2 separate roasters.
