I am really pleased with the performance of this grill. I was a short order cook for many years at a restaurant. This grill comes real close to uniformity of heat and surface area to cook. The steak bombs I have made have been fabulous. The breakfast homefries, eggs, omelets, and of course those great blueberry pancakes are just the best!

Great Basic Grill for Kitchen

My husband is a professional cook and he selected this over a similarly priced one that had the option to leave grill marks (combination grill and griddle) from Cuisinart. He gave up that option to have the back splash feature. It keeps grease from going out that direction and probably reflects heat back also. This is a huge grill but he likes to cook alot at once and then have leftovers. It is definitely worth the money.

A large enough griddle

This griddle is large enough to actually cook on, it has the space for 6-8 pancakes or pancakes and bacon. It was just what I was looking for.

Non-Stick?

The first use was a disaster, I made a pancake batter, preheated the grill and the cakes stuck to grill surface making a big mess.

Great Grill!

We love this grill! It is big enough to cook breakfast for 4. It is quick to heat up and the entire grilling surface is the same temperature. You don't have hot and cold zones. The splatter guard also sets this grill apart and I love the fact that it has a drain on it. Would and have recommended this grill to others.

The item is a little costly, but the features made it an easy choice. We haven't used it yet.

Great griddle! Wonderful size to do pancakes, eggs and sandwiches. The griddle maintains an even temperature; no hot spots.

Best value for the money

We use griddles alot in our home. We have gone through several in the last two years. This one is built stronger and is much more sturdy than the rest. The spatter shield is a big plus for me. We haven't had any problems. This is the best griddle we have owned.

excellent griddle for daily use

While it does take a bit to heat up, it holds the heat evenly and cooks everything to perfection. It's got a wonderfully large cook area and is very easy to clean. I would definitely recommend it.

Super Griddle

Every Thursday I play diner short order breakfast cook. This griddle works superbly and the splash guard protects the island clutter behind it.
I have bought other cheaper griddles that were thrown out in frustration.

This is the griddle I've been looking for

After a series of moderate to low priced electric griddles that either had hot spots, had non-stick coating that wasn't, or just plain stopped working, I was ready for an upgrade. On an episode of "Good Eats", Alton Brown had given advice about choosing a griddle, and I don't know if this is the one he used in the show or if it just looks like it, but it definitely meets his criteria for a good one.

It heats quickly and maintains an even temperature during the entire cooking time. The directions mention that the left side may run a little hotter, but I haven't found that to be an issue. The suggested thermostat temperatures are a little low, but add 25 degrees and it's perfect.

I've made French toast and pancakes, which is about all I ever use a griddle for. It' has a bigger cooking surface than most, so it cooks more food at one time. It holds 8 slices of French toast easily, and I made about 10 - 4 inch pancakes per batch-- less time spent cooking, and more time eating with my family.

My only real complaint is that the griddle is dishwasher safe--but it's too big to fit in my dishwasher in any way that doesn't block the spray. It just fits the width of my double basin sink. But these are minor complaints overall, because it cleans up easily with a little soap and a Dobie sponge.

I plan to try warming tortillas the next time we have tacos, and maybe I'll try it for some of the meats I cook in my cast iron frying pan. Even without fitting into the dishwasher, it will definitely be a lot easier to clean up.

Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? I think so.

Disappointed in Product

The quality of the product was disappointing. When opening the box I cut my hand on the sharp, almost unfinished edge. Both sides of the griddle had unfinished or sharp edges instead of the smoothed edges that the end of the griddle had. For a product that was rated quite highly by Cooks the griddle was, to me, an unfinished product. I would not recommend this product to anyone based on the griddle I received.

solid griddle

I have used this griddle three times and it is a great griddle. It is a solid construction. It heats much more evenly than our previous griddle. Our previous griddle had serious hot spots. I gave this a 4 out of 5 because the plug takes a little force to get in and out of the griddle. Other than that, it is a great griddle.

Worth the money

I have just replaced this item with the same product after using it for 2 years in a bed&breakfast, so you can see it was well used.

Splatter shield

Was scratched. When I tried to remove a label some more of the paint came off. Not detrimental when used for it's intended purpose, just looked very used.

This IS the one!

Great large cooking surface. Love that the griddle is cornered. Will clean easy. I saw this was rated #No.1. I can see why. Plan to get one for my daughter. LOVE<LOVE<LOVE

So far so good.

I've used this griddle twice so far... once for pancakes and once for eggs. It's been very easy to use, nice sized surface, and heats evenly. My favorite thing is the large surface. It's replacing a 30 year old Farberware griddle, and honestly I'm just not used to the nonstick surface yet. Also wish the cord was a tad longer... you have to be very near an outlet, which isn't always simple on a kitchen island.

Broil King Nonstick Griddle fit fo a king.

I usually prefer gas cooking, but I wanted a griddle that would cook a lot of food, and thought I would try an electric griddle. This griddle cooks evenly and well. The grease drains away beautifully, It cooks a lot of food quickly. The only problem I have encountered is when frying eggs they tend to slide to the edge as the griddle is slightly tilted to allow the grease to flow to the drain hole where it collects in the a grease pan.
