The Granite Ware 25 lb. covered roaster is not like the enamel pans of my youth. I have used this roaster to roast, simmer and stew poultry and meat. Each time the meat is browned, tender, juicy and nothing sticks to the sides or bottom. The cleanup is a dream. I appreciate the light weight, the ability to use either piece as a bottom and the that I can use both pieces as a roaster when everyone gathers for the holiday.
great roaster, great value. did a 22lb turkey at 325, did not baste, did not open lid. used a convection oven, done (185) in 3 hrs. moist and browned perfect.
I purchased this pan, one for myself & one for my friend, to use for cooking whole briskets up to 4 at one time. Unfortunately the lid, for the one I received, seems to be a little narrow b/c it does not sit secure which allows all of the steam escape. I'm unsure if this is a poor design or if I just received a bad lid. I'm contemplating asking the seller to ship me another one & allow me to return the first one at no cost to me. For the price, the pan is great for cooking large quanities & clean up was easy. I will try to use the pan again in the future although I may have to cover the pan with foil instead of using the lid.

The Granite Ware Large Covered Roaster is a wonderful cooking pan. The enamel finish gives superior browning results. The roaster pan can also be used as two separate pans, one for a large company meal or the second pan which is the cover can be used as a regular sized roaster. Very easy clean up, you can used a scouring pad with no damage.
It took years for my old roaster to start wearing off the enamel coat. There were chips inside the package when I opened this. Very poor application, or inferior materials. Either way, I don't want to cook in it, for fear that other spots will chip off into the food. Cooking.com contacted me immediately about an issue I had with this purchase. I was amazed at the level of customer service I received. I have been shopping on Cooking.com frequently, and will continue to do so with great confidence.
The pan its self is a good pan and we will be using it for years. The problem is the add for the pan said it came with a rack. It doesn't. After checking on line I found that amazon had put this item on hold because of the missing rack.
Hey...I had a pan like this for 40 years...I hope this one serves me a swell as I will not be using it for 40 more years but it surely looks like the one I had to throw away last year as she sprung a hole in the bottom and Lost the turkey gravy on the stove...not all but some and it mad a mess but after 40 years things do happen...thanks for still having my favorite pan for me to re-purchase...I will enjoy making another big bird in it...enjoy Thanksgiving to who ever is reading this note
I received my roasting pan,but was disappointed that it was too large for my oven. I really liked the pan,but I think if the handle had been on top of top pan it would have fit. The handles are on both ends making it too large. So,for that reason,I had to return the pan. The quality is excellent.
We have been in a used roaster--aluminum--for 47 years that was left in a house we purchased at that time. It has started to get pitted and not safe for cooking in any longer, so decided to replace it. We had a hard time finding a big enough roaster for the large turkeys we fix when our family gatherings occur, and were excited when we found this one, knowing that Paula Deen has a very good reputation for selling quality products, and were very pleased with our purchase. Thanks!
We have one or two of these for cooking big family meals and are very pleased with them the way this one was shipped was great as these are easly chip and the way this was package there was no way that was gong to happen great job.....
This roaster was purchased to replace a similar roaster that had reached its end of life. The picture led me to believe that it was the same exact size, but it was larger than the one I was replacing. This wasn't an issue since we tend to roast a large turkey for Thanksgiving and this unit can easily handle a very big bird. We will definitely get some good use out of this new roaster.
