Modern style marries precision cutting in the Kyocera Black 6-in. Ceramic Chef's Knife, an attractive Japanese-made alternative to traditional metal knives. The durable blade is constructed of zirconium oxide, which retains an edge for years without requiring frequent sharpening and doesn't add a metallic tang to your foods. The nonstick blade surface can be wiped clean in seconds, and it is hard enough to withstand everyday use. Because it is resistant to rust, stains and chemical corrosion, the blade can be used to slice through practically anything, from acidic citrus to tough cuts of meat marinated in oil. Plus, the straight, sharp edge leaves a smooth cut, not jagged edges, on your sliced foods. A contoured resin handle, which is easy to grip and comfortable in the hand, gives this knife an optimized balance that ensures smooth slicing every time you use it. Because it is lightweight, you can chop, mince or dice in comfort even if you're rushing through piles of food that needs to be prepped before a big dinner party. The 6-inch blade is the ideal size for chopping everything from root vegetables to juicy chicken breasts, and the knife comes with a 5-year limited warranty that protects against breakage. To keep the blade in best working condition, always hand wash it and then dry it immediately, and sharpen it regularly so that you will always have the best cutting edge.

Features:

  • 6-inch zirconium oxide blade
  • Contoured resin handle
  • Lightweight knife
  • Resists stains, rust and corrosion
  • Cleaning & Care: Handwash with mild dish soap
  • Material Blade: Zirconium Oxide
  • Material Handle: Polypropylene Resin
  • Model No.: FK160blk
  • Origin: Japan
  • Size: 6-in.

  • Great Knife

This is our second Kyocera Ceramic knife; the first was a smaller Santoku model.
They both are great to use -- light, exceptionally sharp, and easy to control.
We have used and appreciate Kyocera's re-sharpening servicew. I had abused the knife by cutting through a chicken back bone and chipped the edge.
Kyocera restored the edge and returned it good as new.

    I recommend this product.

  • Excellent knife. The handle on my old one broke, and others I tried were awkward or heavy, or just didn't cut well. This is light and my hand fits the handle perfectly. I cook every meal and use the knife primarily to cut vegetables at least three times a day. A great knife, especially for women.

    I recommend this product.

  • A great knife

I used my cashback bonus from Discover Card to help offset the cost of this knife. Had it been full price I never would have bought it but it is worth every penny either way. It's sharp, light and does some amazing cutting. It's also been a topic on several occasions when guests see me using it.

    I recommend this product.

  • First time with a ceramic knife

Great knife. Assuming the blade holds up as they say, should get plenty of use. A little concerned that I won't be able to sharpen it, but have to send it back to the company to get it sharpened.

    I recommend this product.

  • My new "everyday" kitchen knife.

I originally bought this knife to slice ripe garden tomatoes which it does flawlessly. Over a couple of weeks, however, I found myself reaching for it for many other tasks. It's light weight, comfortable handle and extreme sharpness make an ideal choice for slicing and dicing vegetables. When a recipe calls for chopped bacon or prosciutto, out comes the Kyocera. Want thin slices of meat for sandwiches? This knife is perfect. It is not designed for cutting bone or other hard substances and care mist be taken not to drop it on the floor or try to pry with it as it can break. Other then that, this is a perfect everyday kitchen knife.

    I recommend this product.
