The original multi-purpose Kitchen Shears was invented and patented by J. A. Henckels in 1938. The basic style was only slightly modified over the years until this updated version was introduced in 1996. Sleek and European in design, these shears have many uses in the kitchen: use them for cutting food containers, seafood, poultry and string - it even has a screw-cap opener. Made of high-carbon steel with precision honed edges, the shears have 1/8"-thick micro-serrated blades that feature the company's FRIODUR ice-hardened stainless steel that resist stains. The handle is made of high-quality, fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene. Dishwasher safe.

Nice hand feel, good blade, best I have seen. But, downside is plastic grips which I have broken in previous pairs

These scissors have done a great job so far when it comes to breaking down a whole chicken cooked or raw.

I've had the shears Zwilling J.A. Henckels for years and I do need another one. It is sharp and heavy duty. I trust the company.

Best Shears

These shears are a great buy! They can cut thought just about anything you might encounter. The only down side of these shears is the fact that they don't come apart to be washed, though that means they don't have the chance to come apart when you're using them. I would highly recommend these shears.

Great shears, the only thing that would make them awesome would be if they came apart to clean.
