Maybe the best of the three I've tried...
May 3, 2011
This replaced an unusable Jura-Capresso 585.05 which clogged mercilessly and spread powdered coffee all over the counter with each use, which in turn replaced a worn-out Cuisinart DBN-8 (a brand I now avoid, having had problems with just about every device from them I've tried). The latter admittedly worked well enough for a few years, though early in its life, it spewed a screw into the hopper. The Krups looks like it will be unlikely to clog as there's hardly any "chute" through which the ground coffee must pass, unlike the Jura's long, twisting internal maze. The grounds come out fairly uniform, though, like every burr grinder I've tried, some ultra-fine powder is produced even at a relatively coarse setting. The beans occasionally pack together in the hopper, requiring a shake or a tap to get them flowing again - but the same thing happened with the other two.

EXCELLENT Grinder
November 10, 2010
Had the simpler Krups grinder for TWENTY THREE YEARS before it stopped working one morning, so no way was I going to go with any other brand. Got this higher-end model and am VERY pleased with the size of the basket & the ability to select different grinds. Quiet, too. Very, very pleased.

OK I guess. Grinds well and uniform. # of cups function is pretty useless. It is based on a time amount and not an actual measure of the ground coffee. 2-cup setting is actually more like 4-5 cups and I like my coffee strong! Beans sometimes don't get channeled into the burrs and unit needs a good shake to get them flowing again.

Fine coffee grinder
February 5, 2007
This is a great coffee grinder. It is very easy to use and clean, and it gives ground coffee just the way you like it. It takes only a few seconds to have perfect ground coffee - whenever you want it. Cleanup is simple- just brush uor the grinder cavity and wash off the removable parts - and you're ready to go for the next cup of great coffee!

We grind beans for each pot and a burr grinder is the best way to grind coffee beans. This grinder is good and I would recommend it.

Only one flaw!
July 6, 2007
This grinder rules, when I ordered it from cooking.com, it was for another coffee freak. (I just started my addiction again a few months ago.) However, I bought the same model elsewhere. The only issue I have with it is the 'cup' setting. Simply put, it is only a timer, so the type of beans being used and the coarse/fine selection both play a factor in how much coffee is actually ground. However, since the ground hopper is clear, and the button can be used as a simple on/off setting, it works great regardless. All that, and no chunks like blade grinders!

good grinder for the money, small size which is what i wanted. Does create a lot of static electricity as it's grinding.

Seems to work as promised. However, it produces a very strong cup of coffee if you go by the machine's settings. So we just reduce the cups.

This grinder was a gift for someone who had seen it my home and had looked all over for one for herself. She is was thrilled when I gave it to her and it was put to immediate use.

great burr grinder
March 30, 2012
I guess we like this grinder pretty well since this is our third one. We've had to replace 2 others over the years because the switch gave out. I consider this normal wear & tear since it's used every day of the year. Each grinder has lasted at least 4 years with no other problems, so we're happy.

The grinder is compact and fits nicely on the counter beside a coffee maker. The ability to regulate the grind and the amount each time makes this an easy and necessary tool for good coffee.

Worked for 5 minutes.

Brand new grinder, out of the box, stops working after 5 minutes. I was able to make one pot of coffee. I'm sure they're not all this way, but it's pretty disappointing.

coffee burr grinders

This Krups burr grinder does a very good job. You can't beat it for the price. Easy to take apart to clean and easy to use and grinds to appropriate settings.

Does not work as represented.

The grinder suggests that it starts automatically, but I need to apply continuous pressure to the top during the grind process. It does stop automatically. It has multiple grind settings. I have both a drip coffee maker and a Keurig, so the ability to choose a grind is important to me, and I have enjoyed the coffee I made using the coffee ground in this machine. For a burr grinder with multiple settings the price was good even if it didn't run automatically.

I have only used this a few times, but everytime I have a hard time getting it to turn on. I have had to clear the coffee beans out, take the burr attachment out and then try again. Also the only grind I have been able to get is powder fine. My husband thought I had bought a new brand of coffee, it was so strong.

Burr Coffee Grinder
January 3, 2007
We have a Capp. machine & without this grinder we were @ the mercy of the local Supermarket to grind our coffee. This way we can grind our coffee ourselves & keep the extras in the freezer. We can also make our own blends & not have to taste the residue from others before us.
