Many of our authorities thought this 9" tall, contemporary black pepper mill was top notch- it met all our criteria: a comfortable grip, a grind that is easily adjustable, and a nut at the base that is independent of the loading ring in the mill's body--so there's no need to reset the grind after refilling. It holds over a cup of peppercorns that are easily added through the large hole on the side of the mill, and works very fast & efficiently, according to Cook's Illustrated, who includes it in their "Best" category. The grinding mechanism has nickel-plated heads that will maintain their cutting edges and won't rust. The Magnum Plus has a lifetime guarantee. Not battery-operated.

This is the best pepper mill you can get. About a quarter turn is enough pepper for a salad. There is no need for the fancy electric mills with their lights.

I guess it's all about cost but it seems very convoluted to associate a shipper like DHL and the USPS. What could have taken 2-3 days to receive took a week

Yes, this mill grinds better than any mill I've ever used. But the design flaw mentioned in other reviews is a deal-breaker for me. It is incredibly easy to unknowingly open the peppercorn

This pepper mill produces! I really like the fact that adding pepper to the hopper doesn't alter the coarseness of the grind. It produces an amazing amount of ground pepper with every turn. My only concern is the location of the opening for adding pepper; I have large hands and find that if I'm not careful I may accidentally open it.

I have been wanting one of these for a long time and it was worth the wait! This mill is so easy to use and I love having freshly ground pepper for recipes, salads, etc. It is definitely worth the price!

After reading the reviews of this in Cooks Illustrated and on line, I decided to buy one. I love it and have ordered another for my cabin. I do, however agree with on of the other reviewers regarding how easily the "fill hole" opens so you have to watch that. Otherwise it is GREAT!

I've been looking for pepper mill that grinds quickly. I saw it reviewed on cooksillustrated.com and it performs like a champ. I highly reccommed it for those who use a lot of fresh ground pepper while cooking.

This is as good as the reviews have said it is. Although it is a little pricey it sure has made things easier and quicker when seasoning large items. I have not had any problems twisting open the reservoir hole.

I ordered this for myself, as I've never had a pepper mill that worked the way I wanted it to...this one does, and I love it. It was a bit pricey for what it is, but I suppose you get what you pay for, with something like this. I was feeling extravagant. Brenda
