Great grinding

I never appreciated what pepper could do for grinder my food because I never had a good grinder. This is a great grinder. It's easy to fill. It's easy to adjust and I have all the pepper I need or want. I just wipe off the grubby hand prints. I get a real thrill using pepper now. And I bought some good peppercorns. I'm learning to explore and cook better these past few years and what a pleasure.Buying this grinder is part of my learning and enjoying good food.

Awsome pepper mill

This is one of the best mills i've ever used. it's extremely easy to fill and once you've set the grind to your taste,it stays there. the volume of pepper it prduces amazes me still. most other pepper mills require a lot of turns and time where as this one is quick and efficient.

It is actually made in Italy not USA as the cooking.com website stated when it was purchased. The first plastic housing broke but was replaced under warranty (~$14 shipping round trip).

Best pepper mill ever!

I had been frustrated trying to grind enough fresh pepper for my recipes. I tried using my coffee grinder, which worked rather well, but was difficult to completely clean. I bought several other pepper mills before hearing about this one from Cooks Illustrated. I thought that the price was a little high for such a simple kitchen tool. I finally decided to treat myself and I am so glad I did. The Unicorn produces a large quantity of freshly ground pepper in very little time and effort. Now that I've used it, I can see that it's definitely worth the price!

Magnum Pepper Mill

This is the best pepper mill I've ever purchased. I love the design and the way it grinds the peppercorns. It only takes a few twists to get ample pepper. You won't be disappointed if you buy this!

Awe-inspiring grindage. Maybe a little pricey, but come on: adjustable grind, separate filling port, indestructible, w00t.

The best pepper mill I have ever had.

Excellent control of the grind and very easy to use. No problems with the filling door opening, as other reviewers have mentioned. A little pricey but seems to be very well-made. Not the most attractive accessory in my kitchen (my decor doesn't exactly run to Big Black Monoliths) but I'm very pleased with its functionality.

Everything it's cracked up to be. Gobs of fresh ground pepper with a small twist of the wrist. But do be careful you don't twist the fill portal open while grinding.

I saw a test demonstration of several well known pepper mills on Hawaii PBS and because of the endorsement of the Magnum Plus from the tester, I bought the mill and it is the best mill I've ever used.

Excellent quality at a reasonable price.

A little pricey for a pepper mill, but works wonder! Puts out a lot of pepper and looks sleek sitting on the counter. Wish it came with a small black base, so pepper didn't get on the counter every time you set it down. We set it on a small dish to keep the pepper contained. Works wonders, buy it today, you'll be happy!

Quick Grind

Been using this pepper mill for a few weeks now. It grinds with consistency and ease. The only disappointment considering the price tag is that it's plastic and doesn't seem as solid as it looks in pictures. Time will tell on that one.

Grinds Great!

I think the grinder grinds better than any other unit. do think it is a little too hard to turn. You almost have to back it up and then go forward.

I own 9 pepper mills filled with various peppercorns, the unicorn pepper mill is the fastest grinding mill I have used. I like the amount of pepper it produces in a couple of turns. However, it's a bit pricey, the delivery took too long on regular ground freight.

I'm a subscriber to Cook's Magazine and they recommended this. Great for grinding up lots of pepper, but if you are pepper-shy, be careful. It truly grinds effortlessly and produces a lot more per grind than any other I've tried.
