I have purchased several mills and they all have fallen short for one reason or another. This one is by far my favorite. It provides a decent amount of pepper for very little effort. My only caveat is the port to fill the mill come open often while using. A small inconvenience for such a great little work horse.

Yes | No Report Violation »I first became acquainted with the Unicorn Magnum pepper mill after hearing Alton Brown sing it's praises on his TV show. Having been dissatisfied with some other pepper mills I had owned and their ability to grind sufficient amounts of pepper to season food, I immediately ordered one. Alton was right. This is the Cadillac of all pepper mills. It's not particularly attractive, wish they would improve the style, but it does gring pepper like no other. And it is somewhat easier to fill. But the durability is an issue. I am currently on my third one because after a year or two, they just fall apart. If I could find one that worked as well, I would definately switch my loyalties. Having paid in the neighborhood of $55. each time, it seems like I should be able to expect a longer life span than it has.

We ordered the Unicorn Magnum Plus from Cooking.com and can't praise it enough. One of the few products out there that actually performs as advertised. Nice design, smooth mechanism, and holds lots of peppercorns.

Yes | No Report Violation »I own several peppermills, mainly because each one I have gotten, I hope is better than the one I have in my cupboard...but it never has worked out that way until now. I found the Unicorn Magnum very easy to fill, and I love the consistency of cracked pepper that it produces. I am recommending this to all my friends. It will be the last pepper mill you will ever buy!

Though this grinder is a little pricey, it works just as advertised. Grinds great and grind adjustment is a snap from fine to coarse. Produces a generous amount with each twist.
Only negatives:Filling is a little difficult into the hole on the side and the appearance of the grinder is pretty utilitarian. But we have had several grinders over the years and this is the best ever.
This grinder is perfect for people who use pepper regularly. If you like pepper, this grinder is for you. The reservoir is very large, and each twist produces robust amounts of pepper. I love this grinder and, at this time, I cannot see how anything could be better. Better than wood grinders, as it can more easily be cleaned. The grinder is the top--very easy to grip and turn. It is so easy and productive that you need to limit yourself to 1-2 grinds, otherwise your food is over peppered.

Now I finally have one that actually works!! This mill is the greatest!! No one should buy a pepper grinder other than this one...it's worth every dollar!
1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »I have been dissapointed in other pepper mills. I read the reviews for the Unicorn Magnum and they were mostly true. I like the adjustable grind, the overall size and the ease of use. Some reviewers did not like the filler location etc. I have no issue with it. This mill gets used a great deal.
1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »This is the BEST pepper mill I've ever had! I bought it because America's Test Kitchen rated it the best. Seriously, you can turn it once and have enough pepper that takes others 3-4 turns to get. Easy to fill, easy to work and easy to adjust. Pricey maybe, but worth it.
1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »I'd given up finding a pepper mill that actually worked when you changed the grind size. This one does! I love it.
1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »The Unicorn Magnum Plus Pepper Mill is by far the best pepper mill I have ever used. The ability to adjust the size of the grate is awesome. Unfortunately, I would never pay the asking price if it was out of my own pocket. I used a gift card from the holidays for the purchase. $60 for a pepper mill? Does Cooking.com actually think that hard working people will pay this price? If they do, then it is very clear that they are targeting only one audience- the rich!! Who can blame them, I guess? But they have priced me out of their market.
1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »This is way too much money for a plastic pepper mill. Unless you're a real pepper fanatic, save your money. You'll never notice the difference between this mill and a cheapo.

1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »I have owned a lot of pepper mills over the years, and this is the best. I produces the most ground pepper, per turn, than any other mill I have used. Easy and effective, and strong enough to last a lifetime.
1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »This was a major upgrade for me. It seemed like all of the previous mills I had were inconsistent in grind size and took too many turns to get any pepper out at all. My only drawback is the surface is very slick on the outside of the mill. If your hands are damp, it can be a little difficult to turn. However, that is a VERY minor concern.
1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »Mechanically and operationally, the best pepper mill I've owned. The ground pepper comes out fast with a minimum of effort. The only improvement would be one made of wood.
