I have used many Cuisinart products including coffeemakers for years. This is the worst I have bought.
No outside water window which makes pouring water difficult since one can't see (the old ones are hard enough). The toggles are silly, and it is hard to see the black line on the main switch in order to put it back on "On". I also tried to buy another carafe in white as I always like to have another carafe on hand, but none listed for this model...just black. Very disappointed.
Cuisinart or whoever owns them now need to go back to the basics and make a better coffeemaker. Appreciate this website asking my opinion. The water window is hard enough to read on the outside, but to put it on the inside is stupid!
It makes very good coffee and we like it a lot. The only thing we miss from other coffee makers is an external guage that tells how much water is in the maker

I spent a long time researching coffeemakers to replace my ten-year-old Krups coffeemaker when it broke, and I am glad I finally chose Cuisinart. Because I work in a coffee shop, I am very particular about coffee. This Cuisinart coffeemaker is practical and reasonably-priced without so many of the ridiculous (and unnecessary) features on some of the more expensive models. In my opinion, there is no need to spend more money on a home coffeemaker if you like drip coffee--more bells and whistles do not change the quality, only the amount of hassle and the likelihood of malfunction. Having said that, I would admit that this model has some nice "extra" features, including a programmable brew function (so the coffee is waiting for you when you drag yourself out of bed), as well as an auto shut off feature (so you don't have to worry all day about whether you turned off the coffee pot!). Like some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the water level guage can be a bit tough to read, since it requires looking down inside the water tank (a problem if you are especially short, but otherwise no big deal). While this style of coffeemaker in any brand tends to be somewhat larger than more basic coffeemakers, the Cuisinart is very stylish and doesn't look out of place on the kitchen counter. The stainless steel wipes clean and doesn't show dirt or dust. Really, this was a great purchase, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quality, reliable coffeemaker that makes a great cup of coffee.

I am very pleased and love the programmable brewing time and automatic shutoff after 2 hours. It was easy to program and easy to use for this non-technical person. Also happy to have a 12cup capacity for when there's company.

Yes | No Report Violation »Coffemaker works well - has a lot of nice features such as a beeper when the coffee is done, automatic shut off, adjustable heat plate. It is slower than our old Capresso, and the water level indicator on the inside of the water reservoir is very difficult to see. It is an attractive coffeemaker and looks nice sitting out on the counter.

I have the black matte finish and it fits well with my other kitchen appliances. An externally visible water fill indicator would have been a nice feature.

On the positive side, this coffee maker quickly makes a pot of really good-tasting coffee. It is very flavorful and pleasing. I replaced my 20 year old Bunn with this machine and I'm delighted with the brew.
On the negative side, there are problems. The opening for water is small and it's easy to spash water onto the grounds. To avoid this, I use a funnel but that's just one more appliance required and Cuisinart should widen the opening. Pouring from the coffee pot just doesn't work
Also it's impossible to use the water guage to determine the fill as it's placed well inside the maker. Another marked container for water fill is necessary for measurement.
And I don't like the snap-on lid for the pot. Once I hadn't completely snapped it on even though I thought It was tight and it fell off while I was pouring out coffee with messy results.
The disign with a lot of brushed stainless is busy. The look would be improved with mostly color (plastic) and the cost would be lower. I bought the white.
If I didn't love the coffee, I'd have returned the item.
Great coffee maker... and beautiful too!
We've been very pleased with this coffee maker so far. We've had it for about a month and it is used daily (although mostly for making tea!)... The functions are all clear and nicely planned, and the design is beautfiul and clean (I especially love the toggle switch, which feels pleasantly solid and mechanical versus a plastic one). I really like the option to tell it you are brewing 1-4 cups, as well being able to adjust the temperature of the warming plate. We have well water, so the water filter is a nice feature as well, and I found it easy to insert the filter system.
The unit is rather tall, which could be an issue for some. Our cabients are low though, so we'd have to pull the unit out to fill it regardless of the model. We've had no issue filling the water reservoir, and it can be cleaned with a long scrub brush. I can see where for someone who isn't very tall, the lack of an exterior water level meter could make it difficult to use *if* -and only if - you don't use the markings on your carafe to gauge the water level. When I fill the carafe up to ten cups, I assume that what gets into the coffee maker is 10 cups minus a few drops, so I don't look at the meter anyway!
The only thing I would change is probably based in part on habit from our old coffee maker and in part on durability: I wish the lid to the Cuisinart cafare was hinged so you could just press to open, rather than having to snap the lid off and on when filling with water. While being able to remove the lid makes it easlier to clean the carafe, all that off and on seems like it will eventually cause the plastic lid to break. I'm thinking about trying to order a replacement lid now just in case.
As for price, we bought ours with a gift certificate so our out of pocket cost was about $30. I'm not sure, at full retail price of $150, that I would have bought this coffee maker, but the cooking.com price of $80 seems quite reasonable. As long as this one lasts for a few years, I'd gladly by again at that price.
Great coffee maker!
Have been very happy with our new Cuisinart coffee maker. Easy to use and it makes great coffee. A little awkward pouring water into reservoir; however, it's no big deal.
excellent looks and taste
Coffee is excellent, clean lines and no chance of misplacing pot. Does not spill a drop!

Yes | No Report Violation »This is a great coffee maker: easy to use, easy to clean (pot and filters are dishwasher safe), signal when it's finished brewing and signal when its warming time has expired. The clock is easy to program. Makes excellent coffee (and I'm not a coffee drinker!), too. A good value.

One complaint is it can be difficult pouring the water in, if you aren't careful you can easily get some of the water where the coffee grounds go. But if you are careful and not in a hurry it is fine!

I am very pleased with this coffee maker. It has all the features I am interested in.
This is the second exact coffee maker we have ordered. The coffee is brewed just right, the cleaning and pouring water into the container does not spill, like other pots. The auto settings are very user friendly and the auto on allows you up to 4 hours of keeping the coffee hot. The stainless finish shows no fingerprints, I would definitely recommend.
Overall it is a good coffee maker. I have three complaints about this coffee maker. One is that filling the tank with water is awkward. The second is that there is no convenient way to remove the gold filter to stop steam from going up through the grounds and affecting the brewed coffee. I must move the entire machine to the edge of the counter to open the top. My previous coffee maker was a Braun. It had a large opening for filling the tank and the basket holder could easily be moved out to remove that filter. The third complaint is that the digital clock is difficult to see. When standing upright, the top portion of the clock is hidden by its own frame.
While this machine makes good coffee, I probably will not buy another as a replacement because of the inconveniences listed above.
I have owned a Cuisinart coffee maker for about 7 years. The clock just went bad and we could not set the timer. So I purchased another just like it. We are very satisfied with this product.

I had been looking for a Stainless and White coffee pot for quite some time. I needed to replace a Mr. Coffee that continually leaked after filling. (Which is another story...I'll never buy again) I was very pleased to find that Cooking.com offered a few variations of what I wanted. It was easy to order, shipped quickly, and I am very satisfied with the overall appearance and performance. I would highly reccommend Cuisinart. I did read other reviews before making my purchase. It helps. I also read that a couple were not too happy with POURING the water into the tank/fill area. I don't see a problem with it at all. The lid fits/snaps securely on the carafe. No spilling!! Wonderful product. I would purchase one for a gift if a coffee pot was on his/her wish list. : )

I have tried several coffeemakers and rely heavily on Consumer Reports for guidance. This is by far the best choice of all and a great price!
6 of 6 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »The only really bad thing about it is you can't see the water level when filling and the Internal gauge does not
relflect the water level on in the Pot . I would also advise to buy the black version as the stainless steel color will accumutale smudges quickly. Although the warranty card says you can register online there is no menu for this at there website and if you call them they refer you to people who have no access to the Internet and no nothing about it and can't tell you where to go.
One complaint
When you fill the coffee maker with water you need to stand over it and look down into it to see if you have the correct amount of water for the amount of cups you are brewining. It is very inconvenient, espicially if you are short or your cabinets overhang your counters. It would be allot better if there was a water indicator on the outside.

this coffee pot is easy to use, makes good coffee and adds an element of style to my kitchen. I would recommend this product to others.
