  • MOST HELPFUL REVIEWS

  • I have used many Cuisinart products including coffeemakers for years. This is the worst I have bought.

No outside water window which makes pouring water difficult since one can't see (the old ones are hard enough). The toggles are silly, and it is hard to see the black line on the main switch in order to put it back on "On". I also tried to buy another carafe in white as I always like to have another carafe on hand, but none listed for this model...just black. Very disappointed.

Cuisinart or whoever owns them now need to go back to the basics and make a better coffeemaker. Appreciate this website asking my opinion. The water window is hard enough to read on the outside, but to put it on the inside is stupid!

  • It makes very good coffee and we like it a lot. The only thing we miss from other coffee makers is an external guage that tells how much water is in the maker

    I recommend this product.

  • A great value

I spent a long time researching coffeemakers to replace my ten-year-old Krups coffeemaker when it broke, and I am glad I finally chose Cuisinart. Because I work in a coffee shop, I am very particular about coffee. This Cuisinart coffeemaker is practical and reasonably-priced without so many of the ridiculous (and unnecessary) features on some of the more expensive models. In my opinion, there is no need to spend more money on a home coffeemaker if you like drip coffee--more bells and whistles do not change the quality, only the amount of hassle and the likelihood of malfunction. Having said that, I would admit that this model has some nice "extra" features, including a programmable brew function (so the coffee is waiting for you when you drag yourself out of bed), as well as an auto shut off feature (so you don't have to worry all day about whether you turned off the coffee pot!). Like some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the water level guage can be a bit tough to read, since it requires looking down inside the water tank (a problem if you are especially short, but otherwise no big deal). While this style of coffeemaker in any brand tends to be somewhat larger than more basic coffeemakers, the Cuisinart is very stylish and doesn't look out of place on the kitchen counter. The stainless steel wipes clean and doesn't show dirt or dust. Really, this was a great purchase, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quality, reliable coffeemaker that makes a great cup of coffee.

    I recommend this product.

  • Perfect every time!!!

I purchased this coffee pot mainly because of the 12 cup capacity and the black exterior. I have not been disappointed. It brews a perfect cup of coffee. The machine is a little noisy when brewing, but in the general noise of our kitchen it is hardly bothersome. It would be nice if the water level were easier to see, as sometimes I will brew into what is already in the pot and it is a little hard to see inside the measurement area if you are short. However, if you start new pots all the time and just use the carafe to fill the water compartment, you will have no problem at all. The black exterior is just perfect and stays nice and clean which was one of my wishes when I purchased it. It looks fantastic on my black granite countertops. I would definitely purchase this item again without any reservation!!!

  • great coffee on time!

I love this coffee maker, it makes great coffee and being able to program it to be ready when I wake up is fantastic. I only wish I could shut off the beeping noice signaling when it is finished. Other than that this is a great product

  • Nice Coffeemaker

Being that I have little experience with coffeemakers, I'll give a neophyte review. It's pretty easy to use in basic mode, and I really like that it has 4 different hot plate settings so that you don't burn your coffee after it's been brewed.

The only issues that I've run into so far is that it's a little hard to pour the water in, and it's a pain to clean out grounds, there are lots of little crevices for grounds to sneak in.

    I recommend this product.

  • This coffee maker is really worth it!

My wife and I did a lot of looking and compairing of different brands, functions, etc. on the internet, before we decided to buy this coffee maker. We have used it continuously for about 3 months now and we continue to be very happy with our purchase. The coffee just plain tastes good! Isn't that what it's all about anyway? We are convinced that the built-in water filter has a lot to do with it (we just need to remember to buy some replacement cartridges for it). This is a big 5-star small-appliance which I can recommend without hesitation.

  • Good coffeemaker

Does everything we need it to. The only issue might be the the very small opening, compared to other coffeemakers we've had, to pour the water in. Also, it would be nice if the pot had a hinged top. The coffee is good however so that's what really counts.

  • This is the second brew central I have owned. The last one was 5 years old and did not keep the coffee as warm as I like, but after 5 years of service, I won't complain. Filling the water can be a little tricky at first, but is not a problem after a while. I would recommend this coffee maker to anyone.

  • One complaint

When you fill the coffee maker with water you need to stand over it and look down into it to see if you have the correct amount of water for the amount of cups you are brewining. It is very inconvenient, espicially if you are short or your cabinets overhang your counters. It would be allot better if there was a water indicator on the outside.

  • We've had this coffee maker for almost a month now, and seems to make pretty good coffee. I'm not really a snob though, because my previous coffee maker was a Mr. Coffee, and I thought it made good coffee too.
We really like the size of the pot - as most coffee makers are 10 cup - which isn't enough if you have guests. It does look great on the counter too, without taking up a lot of space (which is why we didn't go for the capresso).

    Things that we find annoying....

**Not being able to see the water level without looking over the top inside
**The lid fits on the top sort of weird, so its taking some getting used to, to get it on properly and quickly

We had gift certificates for cooking.com which is why we purchased it off coooking, com ---but I will say they have the same one at BJ's wholesale for $50 -- so you may want to check that out.

    I recommend this product.

  • I have had the product for about a month now and we are very happy with it. The coffee brews pretty fast and it beeps to let you know that it is done. It does not make a lot of noises as it is brewing like some other cheaper makers that we have had in the past. The coffee tastes really good. Maybe that has something to do with the shower-like brewing of the water as it hits the coffee grounds. Not sure.

    I recommend this product.
