You may have seen cookbook holders that are designed to keep your large cookbooks propped open and elevated above the counter. They help keep the cookbook free of stains and splatters keeping the book off the counter surface. These racks are a good idea, but if you typically use recipe cards or recipes printed on regular paper, a cookbook holder is impractical. Recipe cards and loose pages will not work on these racks. They may slide off, or your pages can blow all over the kitchen if a window is opened.

The Recipe Rock is the perfect solution for this cooking conundrum. This nifty little gadget will help you keep your recipe collection neat, clean and free of stains and splatters. The Recipe Rock is a curved, resin "stone" into which a strong magnet is embedded. It has a large metallic ball that sticks to the stone by magnetic force.

To use the Recipe Rock, you remove the metal ball from the Recipe Rock and place your recipe card or page over the magnet. Then you set the metal ball in place. The magnetic force between the ball and the Recipe Rock holds your recipe firmly, much like a refrigerator magnet would. The magnet is strong enough to hold multiple sheets of paper or even index cards securely. The curve of the Recipe Rock helps your pages stand upright.

Never again will you have to try to peel a recipe card from your counter after it has been glued there by honey, corn syrup or another sticky mess. If you prefer to cook from Internet recipes, don't place your expensive electronics in danger of spills or messes. Print your recipes, and cook while the printed paper sheets stand upright using the fun and versatile Recipe Rock.

Holds 8 plus pages.

Handy Little Kitchen Gadget

by Betty, IL
September 25, 2012

The Recipe Rock works really well for holding recipes on paper up out of the way of spills. It makes the recipe easy to read, also, because it is up vertically instead of laying on the counter. Great find!

Wonderful Kitchen Gadget!

by Christin, CA
September 25, 2012

I came across this gadget while surfing the Food Network Store. Since I rarely use a cookbook anymore, getting my one-page Internet-printed recipies to stand up has been a problem of mine for quite a while. I even resorted to using a push pin on my cabinets to keep the pages up and out of the way. This product works like a charm. The curve of the "rock" is just slight enough and the magnet ball is very strong. I have even used it outside while grilling. I highly recommend this product!

Fun and Functional

There's nothing worse than while working through a recipe you end up spilling something on it or touching it with wet, goopy hands. This little gadget prevents that. The page sits perfectly between the magnet and rock base, allowing you to easily read the recipe without ruining the page. They also make great stocking stuffers.

I am a clipper of recipes from several food magazines that I subscribe to. I have several binders of recipes and this little gadget holds a page perfectly without taking up a lot of space on the counter. I bought one for myself and one for my mom.

I bought this product for myself and I love it. It doesn't take up much space. Color selections are great - you can match your color scheme. Decorative if you have to leave it out on the counter - causes people to wonder what it is. Great product.

The recipe rock is an ingenious idea to hold a single page or recipe card. It takes up very little counter space and makes a recipe easier to read. I would definitely recommend as a small gift for any cook.

It Works!

by Frederick, NJ
September 26, 2012

Well, this looks simple and in honesty it is. One of those things you hit the side of your head and say 'why didn't I think of that'. But, it works. And it does the job well. I have 4 recipes printed out and wanted to keep them all together but used them 1 at a time obviously. Put the paper in place and the ball in place and bingo, it held the pages up perfectly. I began the process of building a cake, a banana chocolate bread, a molasses nut bread and some sugar cookies and right there in the midst of the floured surface was my recipe sheets and not a drop of batter nor a dusting of flour was found. The pages were ready to be used again next time all nice and clean! I got to admit I love this Rock. :) And I love the color too!! I hope whoever invented it gets rich off of it!

Wonderful Little Tool!

by Laurie, TX
September 26, 2012

I keep all of my recipes on my computer and print them out as needed. I also frequently take recipes out from magazines. Laying them on the counter takes up space and also recipes often get spilled on. This little gadget uses a magnet to help hold up your single page recipe. I got one for each of my kids (who are now on their own and who loved to cook), and 2 for me--to hold up multiple page recipes or more than one to be worked on at a time.
