I've been baking my own bread in a machine for a year now and have wanted a horizontal loaf pan almost as long. With the deal I got on this I couldn't pass it up. My first loaf in it was Pumpernickel and it came out great! I hope I don't wear it out!

I bake lots of bread for my b&b, and this is my second time buying this breadmaker! My first one wore out (not surprisingly) and I got a former machine out as a short term replacement. It was also a Zojirushi, but this one is so superior. I love the quick dough setting. It is fairly quiet, quick, thorough, durable and has all the features I need. I can see how some think it may be pricey for an occassional bread baker, but for me it's great!

I didn't care much for the first attempt; the bread was too dry and was not smooth on top. Taste was ok. I just need to learn how the various recipes for for me here in FL. If I'd used it before, I would have known to add a little more water so the dough wasn't so heavy and dry. I used a Breadman for many years, and the Zojirushi is very different. I'll get used to it and I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Thanks.

I bought this machine so that I could enter specific programs for the bread desired and this one seems to fill that requirement nicely. I appreciated the instruction CD that was included, but would have liked to see a better designed instruction manual that made it easier to find the desired instruction. Overall, I would rate this machine as highly satisfactory.
