This is the best bread machine I have operated. As with all bread machines, actually using it to bake in can be a challenge to get your loaf to be light and fluffy. I have found that the bread recipes in the book generally turn out to be heavy loaves of bread. I have adapted my favorite bread recipes to fit in the machine. However, you can't mess up using the dough feature, and the sourdough bread is awesome if you add a couple more Tablespoons of water when making the bread part. You can also use the dought setting for the sourdough bread after you have made the starter. It makes wonderful sandwich buns. Also, I found that I had to use the light crust setting, because the other settings left the crust very dark, thick and hard.
