Excellent resource

This book is all you need to learn how to can, dry, or freeze food. Not only does it give the usual recipes for jams and jellies, but also vegetables, pickles, meats, and more. It is a good resource for the experienced as well as the novice. Everything you would need to know is included in this book.

Alittle confusing. I would like more measurement converters. Wasn't exactly sure how much simple syurp per how much fruit per how much jars I was doing. I would've like to seen that explained more.

This book is the best preserving book around. Not only for the experienced canner but for beginners also. Simple but thorugh instructions with colored pictures and detailed recipes. Would make a great gift.

Ball Blue Book

I have just learned to can and it seems everyone refers to this book as the "canning bible". There are a few good recipes in here along with the basics of canning which was very helpful. I was also pleasant surprised to receive the Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving which has a ton of recipes, some of which I have already tried with great success! I think I'm addicted.!!!

helpful/useful tips

this book has alot of useful tips. the only thing it does not cover is after bottling what to do to prevent the jars from popping or exploding 3weeks after the jar processing.
