Great for baguettes

The price was a little steep but this item is getting very hard to find so I was willing to pay it. This is our second one and we use them to bake the best baguette bread we have ever had, using the recipe for Stirato from Jim Lahey's book, "My Bread".

This was the exact baker my recipe called for and the bread was great! The recipies it came with didn't turn out as well but I'll keep trying.

I was surprised that the Long Baker would take such a large loaf of bread. I have used it once so far and it made a very nice crusty loaf. I hope to find time soon to make some Sicilian bread with semolina, (durum) flour.

My wife and I have been experimenting with baking Sourdough Bread for about a year now. We have not been satisfied with the browning of the loaves until we purchased this "French Bread" Baker. It is excellent!
Gives our Sourdough Bread the brown crust (and an excellent crust) that we have desired.
