These 22 ounce bowls are beautiful. I bought two sets as gifts (Black) and bought another set (Blue) for myself. There is ONLY one thing that could be improved and that would be to make them oven-proof. I'm not sure why they're not oven-proof...they had to go into a kiln to fire the glaze didn't they?

Another addition to my kitchen I've been meaning to make for a long time! Great for chili and soups (we've had both chili and carrot soup served in these bowls) and microwaveable, too!

Durable and stylish!

by Erica, IN

The bowls are larger than I thought they would be from the pictures, so you definitely get a generous serving of soup in each one. They are ideal for French Onion Soup, and also work well for stews. Good balance and weight, and the handle is extremely convenient when it is filled with hot liquid!

I would definitely recommend this purchase to anyone who enjoys good soup on a frequent basis. Much better than using regular cereal bowls, or even most soup bowls.

Fragile handles

by Douglas, IN
January 24, 2007

I bought these specifically because of their larger volume (>10 oz.). When they arrived, two of them had broken handles. I think the design of the handle is just too susceptible to breakage. Even now, I'm a little concerned about handling them at home. But, thanks to Cooking.com for sending me replacements with no extra hassle for me.

I would have loved to have sent these items as gifts, but:
a) they arrived late
b) they arrived broken
c) when I called to return them initially I was told by a customer rep. that a return shipping label would be mailed immediately; after waiting 3-4 weeks, I called again and was finally sent a shipping label (last week) to return them.
The accompanying order for matching salad plates never did arrive;
your customer rep. told me it was delivered, but I have never received it, so I have accepted the loss and am out the charges for it, as well as the inconvenience caused. Overall, I would not rate my experience with Cooking.com as being favorable in any way.

These bowls are great! They are easy take in and out of the oven. They stay hot for quite a while. They hold a lot of soup! If you want it as a side dish, only fill the bowl half way. A full bowl is easily a meal!

Beautiful bowls

I was looking to replace some small bowls that we use daily, but I wanted ones big enough for soup (any kind of soup). These are a little bigger than I wanted, but they are beautiful. The color is great, and the bowls are quite well made. We are using them for a lot more than soup--as I intended.

great bowls

I got these bowls to heat soup in. They are great for the microwave because you don't have to touch the hot bowl and the handle doesn't get that hot with microwaving. They are very attractive and a nice size also.

I'm a 71 year old widower twho loves to cook. One of my favorite soups in "French Onion" and somehow, I lost track of my old bowls. The Sango Blues are perfect. My 7 year old granddaughter said, upon seeing them for the first time, "Pop-pop, you have exquisite taste." That sums it up for me.

I like them a lot but my first order had two broken handles and the second had one handle broken off of the bowl. I must say they shipped out a complete set the second time and they arrived very quickly.

I bought these for a gift for someone who wanted them after enjoying the use of mine. The handles can be slippery to hold; it would be better if they were flat, rather than rounded. I especially like the large-sized bowl.

We bought these bowls specifically for french onion soup and are totally happy with them. They are just the right size, go in the oven without problem, and look great. A good value.
