The first ice crusher that I have used that didn't crush my ears simultaneously. It does the job well, but does get stuck sometimes and requires warm water to unstick. This is great for Margaritas or shrimp coctail.

It can chop as fast as you can fill and the top attachment allows you to fill it up. It's great!

Excellent Crusher, very quiet for it's size and power and very efficient at turning out a container of crushed ice !

Only used it once, found out you can't put alot of cubes in the chute at one time, but it does cursh it nicely, not too fine and not too chunky.

Nice

This is a very nice ice crusher. It is quiet and looks good on the counter. My only issue is that the size of the ice is a little large for me - it is about the same size as the crushed ice that comes from the refrigerator door and I was hoping for an ice crusher that produced ice chips. I also would have liked a top to keep the shoot covered when not in use.

Waring Pro Ice Crusher

by George, PA
February 9, 2007

I just love it. I owned several other smaller, cheaper ice crushers before this one, both manual and electric, and none worked satisfactorily. I got tired of fooling around and bought this one.

It works perfectly. I usually use it without the transparent plastic chute. You need to be careful to put the cubes into longwise or it will jam. Jams are usually easy to clear by shaking the machine while running. You can also manually move the ice around in the hopper with your hand (shut the machine off first). The jams occur in the loading chamber and the ice doesn't fall into the blades. No jams have ever stalled the powerful motor and blades. The worst jams can be cleared by just letting the machine sit; the ice will melt. But jams are not much of a problem, honestly.

The claims of 30-50 pounds of crushed ice per hour are believable. I usually crush 3 to 4 trays of cubes at a time (enough to fill the plastic hopper). It takes just a few minutes. I store the hopper in the freezer. After use, a small amount of ice remains in the machine and it will melt out. I leave a folded dish towel on the bottom stage to absorb the water.

Honestly, no regrets at all about this machine. It's the real deal and it's the best machine you can buy in this price range ($80 to 100). Anything else this effective would cost at least $300-400 - I did my comparison shopping before buying.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate it 9.5.

Waring Ice Crusher

The only reason do not give this ice crusher a five out of five stars but a four is that it doesn't crush the ice into smaller pieces. Other than that, I think it is a very good machine.

I have one very minor criticism -- you placed a label on the plastic container that is nearly impossible to remove. I have not taken a sand blaster to it yet, but looks like that's what it is going to need. Okay -- I will try goof off or something first. Wish they could use whatever is holding that sticker on to envelopes. Now that would be sweet.

Would be the ultimate crusher if there were two settings. The current one and one that crushed the ice even smaller. The size of the crushed ice varies between BB and about 3/4 of an inch. It's great but a setting for about 1/4 in size ice would be the ultimate. Great machine.

As you would expect from Waring, this is a very good ice crusher. It is easy to use, does not take up much counter-space, requires minimal cleaning, and has a noise level that is NOT excessive.

I regret there is no switch to shave the ice as well as crush it... but this is a minor complaint. All in all, I think it's a fine appliance

We ordered the ice crusher and it worked very well. However, my husband was hoping for smaller pieces of ice, so we returned the item for a full refund minus shipping. Our overall experience with this company was great!

I bought this crusher after reading the prior reviews. It has lived up to its reviews in all respects. The ice is crushed, not shaven or turned into snow-cones. The best thing, however, is the quietness of the unit. Great buy, especially at the price!

I love my ice crusher. I told a couple girls in the office and they are thinking about buying one of these. I love crushed ice and a blender just doesn't do what this machine can do. I love it.

Good ice crusher and relatively quiet. Tends to knock the drawer open when running, which stops the crusher. Little over-priced, but the best thing out there.

Looking for a great home ice crusher? This is the one you'd want! It crushes large amounts of ice in a relatively short time. It is very sturdy and stays in place while in operation. It also has a nice size container to catch the crushed ice and looks fine sitting on the counter. I am very happy with this machine and would recommend it to anyone.
