I had another brand of food processor for 15 years and burned it out. After much research I found this particular Cuisinart to fit my needs. Since receiving this product, I can honestly say I will never use anything else again and hope I never have to replace it. The features are outstanding. It's quiet, quick and does the job as it is suppose to. One problem I've always had in the past is with making a good pie crust. The first thing I tried was the pie crust offered on the DVD that came with the product. It is the best pie crust recipe I have ever worked with and will make no other. This is the best appliance I have in my kitchen and I use it daily.
I was told that nothing works like a Cuisinart but a Cuisinart. I love my new food processor. It is so quiet compared to the other brands that I have had in the past. I am very impressed with the job that it does on chopping and shredding. It is well worth the money.
This is my second Cuisinart, my first one is still in great condition, still works fine and now has a home in my daughter's kitchen. I really like this FP, its much quieter than my other one. I especially like the 14-cup capacity.
This is a beautiful machine and would look great on anyone's counter top!! I have an older model seven cup Cuisinart food processor which is too small for my needs (but which does a great job on small batches.
). This new processor has been redesigned and is much improved. My old one is hard to take apart and clean while this new one comes apart easily and cleans up perfectly. It also has a heavy base which is critical when using the machine for making bread.
Simplicity in setup and operation makes it a great product. Best price from Cooking.com with appropriate coupon. Unfortunately Cooking.com doesn't offer any accessories for Cuisinart such as discs. Would be great if it did.
Love this machine makes my cooking so much easier from prep time to creating new dishes I have always wanted to try . The fact that prep time is cut gives me more time to do more for a meal . I`m not sure my waist line is going to improve , love the pie crust that it can make in minutes without doing it the old hands on way plus the breads I have made. From chopping to shredding I love using and cleaning is easy . Marty
I got the large size because I make a lot of bread. This model does not come with a dough blade! This is a big disadvantage, and I would not have chosen it if I had known. All other cuisinarts that I have bought came with the dough blade.
I have an older model and the fingers that latch the lid in place broke. I ordered the new larger 14 cup size Cuisinart. The latch system is much better and I hope doesn't break. It looks much stronger. I wouldn't cook near as many fine meals, if it weren't for my Cuisinart. I wish the company would send me a replacement lid for my old machine "Pro Custom 11 Food Processor"! I cann't part with it either!
Did not receive the cookbook with my order that the instruction video describes. I am having difficulty figuring out how to attach the slicing blade to the post it goes on. I am disappointed that I cannot slice apples whole.
I love this food processer. Have used it for shredding cheese, making salsa and slicing veggies. Have not used the dough blade yet. Nice and quiet operation and base is very substantial. Hopefully it will give me many years of service as my old Cuisinart did. Love the way it looks on the counter too!
I bought this food processor hoping for something simple and effective. I got both. The two button operation(one for on and one for off/pulse) is perfect. I found the processor easy to put together without reading the instructions.
My favorite thing about this food processor is the shredding disk. Shredding cheese, zucchini, and carrots is super easy and fast. The only thing I find as a slight downside, is it will leave a 1/8-1/4" piece of whatever you're trying to shred.
So far, I have not used it for much else. I cannot wait until summer though, because I imagine this will be perfect for making fresh pico de gallo.
Got my Cuisinart for Christmas and have really enjoyed it so far. I primarily chose this particular processor because it received an outstanding rating from America's Test Kitchens (ATK). Reviewers on the cooking.com website echoed the accolades. This, coupled with the Cuisinart name and the fantastic price sealed the deal. The machine is powerful, quiet and efficient, making jobs like mixing, chopping and slicing a snap. A couple of minor negatives that I must point out: I was disappointed with the clean up of the detachable pieces. While you can throw all of them in the dishwasher--which is great--drying some of the pieces is difficult (if not impossible) as some of the areas are unreachable with a drying towel. Initial assembly of all the parts took me a while to figure out, although a DVD is included. My last processor (a Moulinex I'd had for over 20 years), was very easy to put together, and I'm sure once I am used to this machine it will become second nature, but I don't think most people will just pull it out of the box and assemble it without fumbling for a few moments. Last, I found the processor to be heavy (I keep mine in a cupboard, so hoisting it up and down is a bit of a chore). For those who plan to keep their processor out on the counter, weight probably isn't an issue (and this processor is indeed nice enough in looks to keep out on the counter). All that being said, I'm happy with my purchase and plan to use this processor for many years to come.
I have needed a new food processor for 2 years now! I waited and read any reviews I could find and felt this one was the best. I needed a heavy duty, large capacity work horse and this one fills my needs. I was lucky enough to get a good price-very happy cook now.
I had an old Hobart/KitchenAid food processor that weighed about 2X the weight of this one...and was MUCH louder. The bowl seemed to be about 4 cups bigger, but the 14 cup Cuisinart is the largest available now. Very happy with my purchase!
I read many reviews of various food processors before selecting this Cuisinart Custom 14-cup model. I have had Cuisinart food processors for 35 years or more, but had grown increasingly soured on the construction, materials, and workmanship. In checking reviews last month, I concluded that Cuisinart was the way to go, in general -- and that the Custom was the particular choice to make. One reviewer was practically in tears over the one she DID buy, wishing so hard that she had gone the Custom route.
At any rate, I am thrilled with this model ... the solid construction; the attention to details, particularly in view of safety; the scary-fabulous blades; the 14-cup bowl; the instruction manual and video ... what's not to like? Finally, a true workhorse at a great price!
I have wanted a Cuisiinart Food Processor for years but always thought they were too expensive. I watch the TV chefs use them and they never have to fight the locking device so it will fun. My old one was a bear to lock. I was researching the cost so hubby could get it for me for Christmas and saw this one was marked WAY down. Had to order it right away. I love it!
