My blender can beat up your blender.

This Vita-Mix has what the regular Vita-Mixes have and more. It has the power to liquefy and puree anything as well as the ability to chop and dice as well. It really helps to watch the included videos as well as the videos on the Vita-mix site as well to learn how to do everything with this blended. There are two things that set this apart from the other Vita-mixes. First, it has a pulse function. This comes in handed when chopping and dicing. Second, it has 3 different timed programs. These programs let you start the blender up and not have to watch it. This thing makes the smoothest smoothies you ever had. I do have to warn you though, this thing is a little louder than your typical blender, but you don't have to run it as long in order to get the results you want. Finally, clean up is a snap. Fill it halfway with warm water and a drop of soap, run the smoothie program, rinse and you're done.

So happy with my Vitamix purchase

I was a little skeptical about spending $500 for a blender, but after having the Vitamix for a couple of months I am convinced I got a bargain. I use this thing every day for smoothies, juice, and ice cream. It does an amazing job every time because the motor is so powerful.

I considered buying the more basic Vitamix model, but am so happy I spent a little more for this one with the presets. The smoothie setting is great - just turn it on and walk away and it shuts off when it's done. I use this time to clean up and get my cup and straw ready so I can start drinking as soon as it's done ;-)

The last thing I will mention is cleanup - this is really the best part. Just rinse the container, fill it to the 5 oz line (there are measurement markings on the side), add a drop of dish soap, and turn the machine on the auto smoothie setting. In 2 minutes it'll be done and completely clean! Just a quick rinse and drop on the drying rack. I've never had to do anything more than this to get it clean!

Overall, great product and great build quality. I am confident this thing will last for many years.

My favorite kitchen tool!

Can an appliance be life changing? In the case of the Vitamix blender, absolutely.
Do not waste your money on a juicer that extracts when you can use the Vitamix to pulverize vegetables (and fruits) so all that "good for you" fiber is consumed. I am not a person who likes vegetables although I realize how important they are for optimal health. Drinking raw vegetables is the most practical way to consume power foods such as kale, parsley, spinach, berries, etc. and, with the Vitamix, drinks come out silky smooth.
I love the presets on this blender as well as the pulse feature. The cost increases, but I feel they are worth it. You simply push the button and walk away in most cases. The Vitamix makes the best soft-serve ice cream and even cooks hot soup.
We use our Vitamix at least 6 times a day. The 7 year warranty gives me peace of mind and I feel good buying an American product from an American company with a reputation for impeccable customer service. My only regret is that I didn't buy one years ago.

Wonderful multi-purpose kitchen tool

We love our new blender! Even my husband, who was skeptical, is a fan. He grinds our coffee, makes nutritious smoothies for himself and the kids. The soups are delicious and so easy to make. The clean up is as easy as running the dishwasher. Just fill the blender with a little soap and warm water and it will do the rest. The "Bill Me Later" option helped with the cost and a $40 off coupon I found online sealed the deal.

fun and healthy

I enjoy using my VitaMix. I have not had it very long, but have made lots of things in it, from soups to ice cream and lots of smoothies. I would have never guessed that sorbet could be so healthy, with all kinds of vegies and fruit with no added sugar or any additives.

Vita-Mix CIA Professional

I have only had this blender a little over a week, but it is amazing. I have made fruit and vegetable smoothies almost every night (that's when I need my sweet fix), however, the fruit makes the smoothies sweet without using sugar which is a plus. The smoothies blend up so fast and I'm on my way to enjoyment. The blender is a bit pricey, but with the payment plan, I took the leap. There are great recipes in the book which comes with the blender. I make substitutions on some of the ingredients if I do not have what is called for in the house, but so far everything has come out fine.

There is NO other product to compare. If you're considering a product of this type, buy this one. It's the BEST!

Great. Everything I wanted. (Very loud)

It does everything I need it to, I never worry about overloading it, and the pre-set buttons (smoothies, frozen desserts, and hot soups) make everything a no-brainer. The recipes are great, the stainless body doesn't worry me re: durability (unlike the plastic body of the 5200, which is just covered in a decorative stainless finish)...I couldn't be happier.

It is noisy. You won't find anyone who says otherwise. My family doesn't love the noise, but they love the food, so they tolerate it. And with the pre-sets, you can set it for anything that doesn't need manual tamping, leave the room, and come back when the program ends :)

Easy to clean. Makes blended coffee drinks. Makes hot soup. Makes salad dressing *so* easy. I just love this thing.

I've enjoyed using it. I plan to make many healthy meals with it.

Love My Vitamix!

I have enjoyed making smoothies the most but this is no slouch for grinding hard cheese (Parmagiano-Reggiano) and for making your own powdered sugar. Can't wait to try the soup recipes and am so glad to improve nutritional quality whenever and wherever possible. And with a 7 year warranty on the motor? WOW...Worth every penny!

Fantastic! After reviewing the demo on the DVD I jumped in and made a green smoothie, and fruit smoothie, and tomato soup - all awesome. This machine is truly a must have in any kitchen. Love it!

Terrific Product

Makes terrific smoothies and soups. Easy to use - even my 13 year old daughter had made smoothies by herself. Like the preset options for smoothies and soups. Very easy to clean.

Price and experience

It took me several years to finally purchase this item because of the price. But I finally gave in because of the free shipping promotion and a discount coupon. This made it worth putting out the dollars though still high compared to other name brand products. I am very happy with the product. It meets all my expectations after watching demos online before I made the initial purchase.

The best in classs

We had a Vita Mix for 15 years and when we gave it to our daughter replaced it with a Blendtec from Costco. Good thing Costco returns as it was not comparable to a Vita Mix. Love having this upgraded version of Vita Mix and using "the best" again. First time order from Food Network and it was a very good experience with a great discount and free shipping.

Don't Balk at the Price

We have loved this machine since day 1 (about two months now). Daily smoothies for breakfast are the norm. Presets make it easy. We haven't tried making soup, yet, but that's just a matter of time. The price is high, but you pay for what you get. The quality of this machine is great.

Yes. A blender that works.

This is the 6th blender in a quest to find one that would live up to the expectations of my wife. It's not the most beautiful piece of equipment we own by any means. It's actually quite a hassle due to the fact that it won't fit under our cabinets. However... If does create beautifully smooth mixtures. You won't be disappointed with the performance. Forget all the different settings. All you need is the knob, and the mixing stick. Coming from a family that puts food in the front of our priority list, this gets our stamp of approval.
