I've had other blenders that claim to blend as well, but there just is no comparison. You get what you pay for, and with the Vitamix, you get the absolute best. Not only that, but the construction is solid. This will last a lifetime, looks good, and it fits under my cabinets! The features on the panel are very convenient, allowing for one touch programs that run and then shut off. These features were worth the extra cost of this higher end unit. The self cleaning is great too! I'd buy this again and again, and would recommend it to anyone serious about cooking, smoothies, etc. It doesn't get any better!!!
