    mixer review

    by Mark, ID
    September 9, 2007

Pros. I do like this mixer and the construction design. It has so far proven to stand up to the the tasks I put at it. It has been able to stand up to heavy loads that I have put it up to. It is not as heavily built as I thought it would be but does seem to be of solid design and has not had any problems under heavy work loads. I have been able to use the mixing attachments and they have worked well. I have not got any of the excessories and tried them out yet. I would like to get the blenders and meat grinder and try them out. It is easy to clean and has worked very well so far. It has been a couple of months.

    3 weeks with a Mixer

    by Zoe, TX
    January 24, 2009

The brownies and bread were done with such ease,
I know batters and cupcakes will soon be a breeze.
It beats and it kneads and yet folds eggs so gently,
I feel like a baker or one of the gentry.
Words can't express how useful the timer,
I can write poetry and not have to mind her.
For their promptness and care, my thanks to your crew,
and for Eco friendly packing, praises are due.

Enough of the thinking, the writing and rhyming,
Cookies are done! The timer is chiming.

    One powerhouse of a mixer

    by David, PA
    October 28, 2008

I purchased this mixer after returning my kitchen aid mixer. The kitchen aid mixer wasn't able to handle my bread dough recipes (the mixer would stop and make a weird buzzing noise) plus the locking head would unlock and fly up when the mixer was on (not a real safe thing to happen). Since I was fed up with not only the KA mixer and their customer service, I decided it was time for a change. I decided to go with the Cuisinart SM-70 in the brushed stainless (silver) This mixer is impressive, it cuts right through my heavy dough recipes with ease. I really like the timer and fold buttons (very useful) plus this mixer looks nice! This mixer is powerful, stylish and easy to use. If you're looking for a mixer that wont bog down on you, look no further.

I was able to make 6 loves of zuke bread at once, a double recipe of cake and a quad recipe of cookies, so that really pleases me.

    Great Mixer

    by Patsy, TX
    May 26, 2008

I have had Kitchenaid mixers for years, but the Cuisinart mixers are much better in my opinion. The bowl is much deeper and I think that everything is incorporated much better. I love the timer. You can walk away and it will cut off by itself. It's the best purchase ever.

    Great product

    by Joy, AL
    October 8, 2008

We love the Cuisinart mixer. We had a large Kitchen Aid but it lasted less than 18 months. We tried to get in repaired but it was just too expensive, given our history with it. We bought the Cuisinart mixer based on a review in Cook's Illustrated and because it is what Alton Brown uses.

    I love this stand mixer

    by Robin, BC
    February 9, 2008

I received this mixer less than a week ago and I've been so impressed with its functionality. Of course, it looks great too. Now I'm using it every day and it's so easy to use. Even my 6 year old enjoyed making cookies yesterday, and it took half the time. Thanks!

    CAUTION!

    by Robert, TX
    January 4, 2009

Since buying this mixer last month, I have neglected my family, my friends and even my dogs.
It's interfering with my job.....All I want to do is cook.. I've gained 7 pounds! I've made the best breads, cookies, pies and the mashed potatoes. I can load this up with heavy whole grain dough and it doesn't care. This realy is a fantastic machine and the 7 quart bowl is big enough for whatever I want to make. It looks great on my counter and I know it will outlast me! This truely is a wise investment.

    Disappointed!

    by CYNTHIA, MI
    January 17, 2011

Very bad design. Can't take the splash guard off without taking the paddle or wisk off too... terrible mess in the middle of a job. I used the paddle approx 3 times before the coating starting coming off. Bowl is large and deep... need extra long handled utensils. Very hard to scrap bottom of bowl mid-job even with long handle... impossible with regular handle without getting half the batter on you. I looked at Kitchenaid model before buying this and thought their quality was not up to par when I picked up the paddle and wisk, but now wish I had bought that machine. This is no better with much worse design. Cuisinart is usually great, but this does not live up to it's reputation. Motor is too big for stand. I have not made anything difficult yet and it rocks around with double batch of egg whites and sugar for buttercream before the butter is added. Can't put a hemi in a chevette body and think you'll have a good result.... Looks nice on the counter. Pain to use regularly and that's a big disappointment. This is for someone who wants to look like a baker and doesn't really bake much or often. I ordered a second bowl which I suggest for any machine. Wanted large capacity to make life easier, but this fails to make it so.

A have to have it product

    by Robin, MI
    December 9, 2008

I love to bake and I have had to stop because of medical reasons, the physical mixing or holding a mixer really bothered me. Since I have bought the mixer the FUN is back in my baking. It has allowed me do Christmas baking this year (which I thought wouldn't happen)

I have tried smaller horse power mixers and have burned them up in no time. This has allowed me to mix up triple batches of cookie dough and mounds of whip cream. Making bread and biscuits is a breeze. I LOVE my mixer!! I take everyone that come to my house out to the kitchen to see it.

    machine works great, good replacement

    by Shirley, CA
    January 13, 2009

I bought this to replace a 24 year old kitchenaid, decided to go with the cuisinart because of the inconsistent reports about the new kitchenaids. It works great, allows me to double bread recipes.

It isn't really clear in the instructions but from the recipes only run it on kneading mode for 4 minutes. I ran it longer when I doubled the bread recipe, the old kitchenaid was ten minutes so I was following that. That was too long for a double batch and it overheated. The instructions need to be a little clearer on how long to run large batches. The overheat protector circuit kicked in as it is supposed to and the machine is fine

I bought the larger one because of reviews saying the 5 qt was too small, it is a good sized machine but I have difficulty getting stuff out of the bowl because the bowl is so tall (I am 5'7 with normal height counters). Something to keep in mind if you are of shorter stature.

So far I have enjoyed my mixer very much, the only problem I have had is the time clock will not light up all the time. It is easy to use and does not take a long time to mix thing up.

    Thank You,

    Dixie

Miss representation of gift w/ purchase

    by Kym, IN
    July 19, 2009

At the time of my purchase,I was to receive a free food processor if purchased before June 30th. My purchase was made June 22nd. When I did not receive it with my mixer,I called to inquire about it. The customer representative was not helpful and told me I was to call the factory and find out what the problem was. Bad customer service and I seriously question whether I will purchase anything else from this company.

SEEMS TO BE A GOOD PRODUCT. NOT SURE ON THE TIMER USE IT SEEMS LIKE THE BUTTONS STICK A BIT AND CAN BE A LITTLE FRUSTRATING, THE LIFT AND LOWER SEEMS A BIT STRAINED. MIGHT JUST BE A FLAW IN MY MIXER NOT SURE. OVERALL IT HAS PERFORMED WELL. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE PRODUCT FOR A FEW WEEKS.

    February 23, 2009

I love it! We have a Kitchenaid before and gave to our daughter. We told her she would be wanting to get the Cuisinart soon. It is so much easier to use and love the way it works.
