I've not actually seen this pepper mill in person, yet. I purchased it for my son. I looked for two months to find the right one for him, within my pocket book.

He has worked in fine restaurants for several years now, and this year his "Christmas wish list" included a good pepper mill. He gave me one a few years ago from the Cracker Barrel, and I love it, but it now makes a squeaky noise when using it, and the pepper corns are not uniformly cracked...some in large chunks, and some smashed to smitherines. I like coarse ground but the large chunks are ridiculous.

So when looking for a pepper mill that would match the nature of his distintive and quality oriented character, I discovered that the world of pepper mills was as diversified as any other type of finely tuned instrument, appliance, or piece of machinery. The William Bounds and the Peugoet seemed to be equal in quality, although the William Bounds largely more affordable. I am so pleased.

My son was positively delighted with this gift, although I wish I could have purchased the taller mill for him, rather than the 8 inch one, but he loves the sleekness of style, and the quality of the mechanism itself is superb. And the fact that the pepper corns are actually crushed to release uniformity and flavor particularly delight his highly discriminating taste buds!

To hear his praises of this gift made my two month long search well worth the efffort.

Also, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the vendor because the product was guaranteed to have been shipped by the 12th of January, but my son received it right after New Years. Thank you. (When able, I'll purchase one for myself).

Useful and Beautiful

I really like this pepper mill because of it's large size -- you don't have to refill it often.

Also, the brushed stainless steel finish looks posh.
