The moment the thermometer was placed in the hot oil it burst open and all the mercury came out into my pot!

Then Temp guage is clear with markings that show the stage of cooking . Ie: soft, hard stage of sugar. A way of warning before the temp causes disaster. Very NICE!
Good cost for a good product!

Very sturdy & heavy duty thermometer! Works quick & efficently to show you the temp of your foods so that you can control the level in which you want to cook them at so you dont over cook! It has a lovely little clip on the back so it clips on to anything pot or fryer!! Very nice!!!

This thermometer is great and easy to use. I love the detail information such as candy hard, etc. Plus the clip that allows me to put it on the side of the pan is excellent.

This was a replacement for the same type thermometer that was over 15 years old. The letters and numbers on the old one had faded and it was difficult to read. It had been an EXCELLENT thermometer.

I have been making pounds of candy. mary lou
I have been searching for this product for a long time, having seen many cooking shows useing one. It is great, I also purchased one for my mom. I like the fact that it has an adjustable slide clip when you clip it on a pan it stays and wanting to fall in, easy to read. I would recommend this product to everyone, they will not be disappointed.

Skip the more expensive ones.. this one is great! This gives you no more or less service and quality is the same as the more pricey ones. I'm a happy fryer here with some change in my pocket lol :)

Yes | No Report Violation »This thermometer seems to be terrifically accurate, but the guard below the bulb leaves you able to measure only liquids that are more than 1/2 inch maybe even 1 inch deep in the pan. The guard should be set to allow for liquids more shallow in depth.

This is the best candy thermometer out there, I have not been able to find one that does not touch the bottom of the pan/pot. This one does not but I do worry if the metal surrounding the actual thermometer conducts heat enough to change the readings, so far so good though.

I like that it clips to the pot and is adjustable so the tip won't touch the bottom of the pan. The thermometer is sturdy and easy to read. I would recommend it to anyone who cooks a lot as I do.

Good price for value. Has a clip that keeps it secure which is useful for cooling to a certain temp...I just glance to see the status....no hands.

He uses the fryer for frying fish when we have a big get-together. He wasn't sure about the length, afraid that it would get in the way when he dumped the finished fish into the serving pan, he made a copper hook that he fastened onto both the thermometer and the fryer pan. Worked great and he likes the thermometer because it is easy to read and seems very accurate. He uses it last weekend when we had a neighborhood fish fry. We served over 80 people, fried some 550 lake Erie perch. Um, good.
