Associate IT Project Manager

Based in Marina Del Rey, CA, we are a fast-paced, growing, and exciting ecommerce Company with an aggressive release cycle and several applications. We are currently looking to hire a full-time Associate IT Project Manager to join our technology team. This position is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of Cooking.com web properties, e-commerce infrastructure and internal applications. This position is responsible for site and application enhancements and maintenance.

POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Associate IT Project Manager will manage activities related to the design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of Cooking.com web properties, e-commerce infrastructure and internal applications.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Obtain specific work hour estimates from technical staff. Track hours, milestones and deliverables through project lifecycle. Estimate project effort and costs, and develop Scope of Work documents.
  • Apply best-of-breed project management techniques to facilitate diverse projects with different clients, cross-functional project teams, scopes, budgets and deadlines.
  • Prepares charts, diagrams, correspondence and technical documents to ensure all parties understand the data, procedures, processes, scope and objectives of projects.
  • Estimate project effort and costs.
  • Create and maintain standard project support documentation and communicate project issues and statuses to stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly with internal clients via phone, e-mail or face-to-face. Provide a quality customer-centric service experience.
  • Provide tactical and strategic leadership to project by ensuring that clients receive promised deliverables/services and by providing consultative suggestions on how clients can best achieve their objectives.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CLIENT MANAGEMENT

  • Interviews department and outside clients to determine system requirements using technical expertise.
  • Balance competing interests of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly with internal clients via phone, e-mail or face-to-face. Provide a quality customer-centric service experience.
  • Drive and support continual process improvement within the Technology team and throughout Cooking.com.

  • Track record of managing complex development projects in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills.

  • Experience in/working knowledge of production cycle as applied to advertising or similar service organizations in which client satisfaction is a measurement of success.
  • Sufficient familiarity with web-development and application tools to communicate effectively with both programmers and stakeholders.

  • Highly organized; attentive to details.
  • Proven track record of assessing clients’ needs, and implementing the resulting innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Intelligent, practical, creative, thoughtful, flexible and an excellent communicator.
  • Forges synergy by maintaining smooth, effective work relationships at all levels; promotes a winning, team-based culture of inclusion.

  • Build strong collaborations in Technology department and across Cooking.com.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 1 years project management experience in a web/technical environment
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum development process
  • Experienced project lead within a high growth/fast paced company preferred
  • General understanding of retail environments
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Project, PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with Rally or other project management software a plus.
