Customer Reviews

Who would ever think there would be so much to selecting a good stock pot? This one is an excellent choice though, and special kudos to cooking.com. First, the pot itself is perfect for soups and stocks. I make a lentil and barley soup the first time I used it, and given the make up of the soup, anything short of perfect heat distribution would have resulted in burning or staining of the interior finish. None of this happened. The soup was perfect, and the pot cleaned up quickly and easily.
As to cooking.com, they had this pot on sale during the Christmas season. It was out of stock, and when it had come back in, it was back to regular price, even though a customer service person had said it would still be at the sale price. To keep it short, when I brought this up, cooking.com honored the sale price. That is sizzling customer service.
Great product, great retail company, great service. What more can you ask?

This must be the thinnest stainless steel available, there is no heft to the pot. For the price it should have been a heaver quality SSW.

Le CREUSET! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING? IS THIS A JOKE? YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR ALLOWING THE NAME OF Le CREUSET ON THIS PRODUCT. TO ME IT DOSEN'T FEEL LIKE....I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO RETURN THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE I BELIEVE I PURCHASED AN IMPOSTOR BY THE WAY OF THE NET. YES! I'LL ADMIT THE PRICE OF A TRUE STOCKPOT BY Le CREUSET WILL CAUSE MY POCKETS TO RUN DEEP, BUT I REALLY LOVE THE LOOK AND FEEL OF A TRUE Le CREUSET, SO PAYING A LITTLE EXTRA I DON'T MIND.

Great Stock pot

by Cheryl, WI
November 11, 2008

This is my first really nice, (read expensive) stock pot. I have had cheap ones over the years, always saying next time...well I spent more and it was worth it! The quality is there, no chips or cracks, and it is a beautuful pot. This is also a nice heavy pot that does everything you'd expect. I have made 3 batches of soup since I got it and am ready for more!

A Sturdy Stockpot That's Not Too Heavy

by Nelda, VA
April 14, 2008

I didn't know that Le Creuset had an enameled stainless steel line in addition to their enameled cast iron pots. I love the original cast iron stockpots and dutch ovens, but the larger sizes are too heavy for me to lift safely. This 8 quart stockpot is large enough for my soup and stew cooking needs, heavy enough for slow, even cooking with no sticking, yet lightweight enough for my old hands to lift when full. The regular price would have been a good buy, but I got this on sale. What a fabulous bargain!

Excellent soup, stew, or pasta pot

by Jeremy, MN
January 19, 2012

I choose this Stockpot as my first piece of Le Creuset and it is a delight to cook with. During the winter I like to make stews and soups from scratch and don't have much experience with enamel.

This pot is rather light but sturdy and made of steel with a glossy enamel coating (tan on the inside, various colors outside). The finish is flawless and hand washing is reccomended to maintain its luster. The size fits perfectly over my gas burners and distributes heat well to saute vegetables for starting a soup and deglace for completing the recipe. Heat is very evenly distributed and it is a pleasure to clean as the enamel seems to hold up better than teflon to recipes that would cling to stainless steel or aluminum.

Will be returning

by Patricia, CA
April 27, 2010

The bottom of the stockpot is not flat. I made popcorn in it, using plenty of oil and all the oil left the middle of the pan, scorching and staining the inside pan bottom. I would expect far better quality for the price I paid.

Couldn't wait to wash this nice pan so I could cook an Amish c hicken whole in it. Brought it to boil and then simmered. The chicken was about 6 pounds. When it was done. I strained and cooled the broth. Divided the chicken( froze half of it) Made chicken and dumplins for dinner. I now have chicken in the freezer when I want a fast meal. The pan is nice and heavy.I cannot give a review on the stovetop smoker. I t is a gift for my husband for Christmas, Will do so after we try it. D doerr

Great soup pot

by Carolyn, NY
December 29, 2007

I love this pot! I made a huge shrimp chowder for a church gathering and it had to be reheated in the pot. It performed like a champ. There was no burning or scorching of the chowder or the pot. Holds the heat for a long time and cleans beautifully. I would buy this product over and over again. I highly recommend.

LOVE this Stockpot

by Kerry, TN
January 6, 2009

This stockpot is great for boiling potatoes, simmering chilli or making turkey soup all day long. As a note, a high heat is not needed to bring contents to a boil, and once they start, you can turn the stove down to low and it will continue to boil for 15-20 minutes until the pot cools. The pot keeps a constant temp, once reached, for a long time. It's great for those all day chilli's and turkey soups!

How can you go wrong with Le Creuset?

by Dawn, NC
December 2, 2007

Another amazing product by Le Creuset. After years of spending money on relatively inexpensive pots and pans and then throwing them away after 3 or 4 years of use, I wised up and started replacing them with Le Creuset. Le Creuset products are well worth the money because the quality and workmanship are so outstanding I can't see how any piece will ever need to be thrown out. I was concerned that maybe clean-up wouldn't be as easy as the non-stick pots I always used, however you can practically wipe this Stockpot clean after each use. This 8-qt. pot is plenty big enough for a pot of homemade soup or making mashed potatoes using an entire 5 lb. bag of potatoes. I LOVE this pot!!! (Le Creuset products are also safer than Teflon coated cookware as you don't have to worry about your family ingesting pieces of the Teflon coating that have flaked off into the food. For health purposes alone switching to Le Creuset is a wise decision.)
