Best skillet

Quality skillet by Le Creuset. You may own this one for the rest of your life the quality is that good. Even heat distribution and the enamelled surface is very nice and easy to work with. Do not use metal utensils on this or clean with SOS pads as you don't want to damage the enamelled surface. With proper care you care get an almost non-stick surface here. Most non-stick cookware is now being linked with cancer from the fumes these toxic coatings emit when heated. So stick with good old cast iron. Also, aluminum cookware is linked with Altzheimers so that is another reason to use cast iron. The enamelled surface also prevents iron from leaching into the food. Well worth the price. Remember that manufacturers take advantage of the buyers ignorance, desire of convenience, an inexpensiveness to flood the market with unsafe and potentially hazardous products so spend a little more and by from Le Creuset an item you can use for life.

Wonderful fry pan!

Because of the weight of the cast iron, this size frypan is versatile, yet lighter than the larger frypans. It cooks great and cleans up fine even when cooking eggs. I just let the frypan cool and then soak in hot soapy water for at least 5 mins and it cleans up nicely with my nylon potscrubber. The exterior finish is beautiful and so smooth. Even the bottom is smooth. I nestle it with the next larger frypan on their sides in my cookie sheet cupboard.

We bought this product hoping to replace our Teflon pans with a safer alternative. Unfortunately everything sticks and omelets are impossible in this pan.

THE SURFACE MATERIAL OF THIS PAN IS UNKNOWN TO ME. IT IS NOT DIFFICULT TO CLEAN AFTER SOAKING IN WARM SOAPY WATER. THE FIRST TIME I USED IT I SCRAMBLED EGGS. THEY STUCK TO THE SURFACE AND I WAS DISAPPOINTED. THEN I TRIED HAMBURGERS AND THEY WERE GREAT. STILL LEFT SOME RESIDUE EVEN AFTER SOAKING. FEEL LIKE I NEED MORE INFO. RE THIS EXPENSIVE PAN. I HAVE WANTED THIS BRAND FOR A LONG TIME. I'M BAFFLED.I DO LIKE THE EVENLY DISTRIBUTED HEAT.ALSO, THIS PAN RETAINS THE CORRECT TEMP.
