I was using one of those grills that span two burners and realized that I was only using half of it so I looked for pans with the grill type surface. The Le Creuset is cast iron but with an enamel bottom so it won't scratch surfaces, and a non-stick coating, not a "seasoned" bare cast iron. Anyway it actually cooks better than the two-burner grill with a non-stick surface, and I can put it in the oven no problem. I've been using in for just about everything to check it out and haven't been disappointed. Nice hefty pan, cleans pretty easy (soak it for a while), great grill type heat, and you get those "grill stripes" on your food to boot. Highly recommended!
