Beautiful, But No Flawless

by Janet, GA

Le Creuset is a top-of-the-line product, so I was surprised when I washed it before initial use to find the water enters the "top/lid" and requires removal of the screw to release water. This is disappointing, and I hope it does not happen all of the time. Perhaps, after initial occurrence, and tightening of screw, it will not occur again. Otherwise, this is a negative in an otherwise beautiful and long-lasting Kettle.

Love the color!

Love the quality, looks great, and it is solid feel to it. HOWEVER, the top is difficult to remove from the kettle. It is very tight. I don't even try to remove the top when it is hot from boiling water for tea.

I love this pink teapot. The whistle is not overly loud, it is just the right loudness. I'm sure it will last for years to come.

After almost melting down my last copper tea kettle by letting it boil dry accidentally, it was obvious I needed a whistle on my next pot. This kettle is perfect not only because of the 'boil warning device' but also the dijon color works well with my kitchen like no other color would.

Le Creuset Teakettle

by Peggy, CA
July 14, 2008

I bought this for my daughter and future son-in-law as a shower present in memory of my mother who passed away 2 years ago. She had a whistling teapot just like this one. I know that every time that my daughter uses it, she will have fond memories of her grandmother. The teapot itself is great and we have never had any complaints about the similar one that my mother had.

A Quiet Whistle

by Barbara, MD
February 20, 2008

I chose this teakettle because I thought it would look nice sitting on my stove. It is very attractive, and it boils water quite well. It doesn't whistle very effectively, though. If you were a room away, you could easily miss it. Nevertheless, a nice product.

1.8-qt White Whistling Teakettle - Le Creuset

by Krista, MO

I am very pleased with this teakettle. It looks great on the stove and the whistle works well. The key thing to remember is to empty out the water after each use to keep the kettle in good shape and make it last.

This is a pretty kettle. It has a wide base that is sturdy, covers the flame, and prevents the handle from getting hot. It has a nice loud whistle which is one reason I wanted a tea kettle. I have to leave the kettle on the stove to get enough leverage to remove the lid, but that's the only drawback.

The only problem with this teapot is it doesn't whistle very loudly. Other than that, it's wonderful. Sturdy and well made.

I just purchased my second whistling teakettle in 10 years. I feel like this was a reasonable lifespan for such a great product. The first would have lasted longer if I had followed proper maintenance guidelines.
Do not let water, at least not tap water, set in the teakettle. It corroded the whole bottom. Now that I have my second teakettle, the first will be reused as an "antique" flower pot!

Technically fine, esthetically ugly.

Amazingly, it fits well in the dishwasher where other kettles were left with water remaining inside after a wash cycle.

This is the teakettle of my dreams! I have had a long succession of teakettles, searching for the one that would meet my expectations...this is it! Sturdy, easy to pour and fill, and with a whistle that is not too shrill, but lets you know the water is ready when you're in the next room. Finally, the teakettle I've been waiting for!
