Gift is Loved and Well Used

by Michelle, TX
May 5, 2008

I ordered this as a gift to replace items lost in a kitchen fire. Mom loves to use slow cookers! She has already put this to the test and is happy. She put the Lil Dipper away as she doesn't know quite what to use it for yet.

Kudos to kitchen.com for being very helpful when UPS delivered this to the wrong address!

Rival Crockpot

by Stephanie, VT
December 16, 2009

I have had several of these over the years, and find it very satisfactory. None of my former crockpots (all Rival) had failed, but as my household downsized I thought I didn't need such large ones, so gave them away. But I found I did, so ordered this one. I now have a 3 qt and 6.5 qt, use them often to make chicken stock among other things. The only improvement I can think of: it would be nice to have a little light to show when the appliance is on- maybe located as the dot over the "i" in Rival on the front!

first time use

by mary, IL
February 27, 2008

The first time I used the crock-pot, I used it on high. It gave a cooking time of 5-6 hours, but it was really done on the low end. I also felt that the receipe didn't call for enough liquid. The meat was a little dried out. I would suggest that you really watch it as the temperature on high gets very hot. Also, there was a little smell that seemed to come from the crock-pot - I assumed that it was the "first time' thing. Everything worked as it should have, though.

what a difference

by Lisa, NM
February 3, 2010

After 20 years of having a real expensive crock pot I realized after trying to cook a large beef brisket it just wasn't big enough which led me to buy this bigger crock which holds alot, how I managed all the years without this size I don't know, it did exactly what it needed to do without the big price tag and cooking. com was great to deal with I will definately order through them again when the need arises.

I haven't actually used it yet, but I'm sure it will do a good job. In the description, it didn't mention that it was oval shaped. I thought it was round. It's not obvious in the picture. My only suggestion would be that this feature be mentioned.

Great large slow cooker

by KC, GA

For doing slow cook recipes for crowds, this is a great slow cooker. Not for small familes, unless they like lots of leftovers (we do). The oval shape works well for roasts.

I love this crock-pot! I love that you can put the pot in the dishwasher - makes it so much easier to clean than my old one. I love the sleek styling and stainless look - it matches my appliances perfectly. I love the different cycles available with it. Just perfect for me!
