Good quality for the price

I bought this product to have for Thanksgiving. Upon opening the packaging I found there were no instructions. After about fifteen minutes of messing around with it, I decided the battery must be dead. Without instructions, I could not see where the battery was or how to change it. After almost breaking it, I finally found how to open the bottom of it to change out the battery. After that, all was good and I'm glad I didn't spend more. I didn't mean for this to sound negative, I really am glad I bought it.

Purchased as a gift for my son-in-law. He was very pleased and says it's the best he has used.

A good thermometer if you can get past a few

It seems like this thermometer cost more than it should have, but the added shipping and handling probably made it seem worse than it actually was. The most notable thing about this product was how IMPOSSIBLE it seemed to be to remove it from it's plastic packaging without BREAKING it!! It was extremely difficult and took a very long time. Apparently, I didn't break mine after all (but it was "iffy"). I still don't understand at all what the four different settings on it mean: sometimes it reads enable; sometimes disable; sometimes on; and sometimes off. Why can't it just be on or off? I have no idea if I'm leaving the thing on and running the battery down. Other than that, it seems to work very well and is easy to read, but it just isn't very attractive at all. It looks like a factory part or something - not something aesthetically pleasing for a modern day kitchen.

This thermometer is a very fast read and accurate. I wish it was a little longer for larger roasts.

This is my third instant read thermometer and is by far the best. I especially like the automatic turn-off as I was prone to forget to do this when I put it up.

New thermometer

I'm happy with the thermometer, was unhappy that I had to pay shipping charges on both items separately, should be able to combine shipping to keep charges lower. Will think seriously about that before ordering anything else from the site.

I bought one for my duaghter that is in cooking college and her and the other student were so impresed with it I bought a second one for myself. It is great. quick, easy and accurate to use. If you make candy or things like maple syrup that depends on exact temps. this is perfect.

Not quite as easy to use as I would have liked but very efficient. Probably would not buy a DIGITAL thermometer again but feel it is a good value for the price.

disappointed

This is not a thermometer that I would recommend. The on/off button is slow and not designed well. You aren't sure if it is on or not. The case for it doesn't fit at all. It does eventually give the temperature, but the numbers aren't dark enough. I am sorry that I bought it.

Landfill

Used it a few times and then it went dead. Okay, replace the battery even though it was only a couple months old. Replacing the battery was an absolute pain to the point of bending the head trying to seperate the item to get to the battery. Clearly not worth the purchase. To me it is clear my thermometer was sitting in some inventory somewhere for a very long time for my battery to go dead so quickly after getting the item. A total waste of money especially having to also pay for shipping on such an item. it is sitting in my drawer dead. To add insult to injury the skewer cover does not even stay on.

Horrible packing, and did not work!

by Patricia, DE
October 23, 2011

You were kind enough to send a second when the first one didn't work, and both were miserable to open.Unfortunately neither one worked!!! Bad product! Directions on the package left much to be desired. No explanation of how to locate and open to get to the battery.
