this folds and fits right into my drawer. I use mine in a vacation trailer where space is limited. I was worried that when I folded the masher part it would fold as I mashed-- IT DOES NOT and does a great job mashing the potatoes. I found it looking for a green handle to match the trailer and ended up with a great product. they do not say in the description but you press the two sides and the masher folds down.
