Satisfy your crème brûlée cravings with the BonJour Die Cast Chef's Tools Chef's Torch, which lets you make the perfect crust on your favorite dessert creation. The die cast aluminum tool is durable enough to use every day, and you're certain to find plenty of ways to use it, from browning the top of a twice-cooked pork belly to melting the cheese on a mug of French onion soup. The temperature is adjustable, allowing you to get just the right level of flame for whatever task you're attempting, and a fuel level indicator window lets you see at a glance when you need to add more butane to the fuel tank. Because it has a wide base, you can easily stand this chef's torch upright while you shuffle individual serving dishes into place before you apply the flame. This handy appliance is easy to use, and it is sized for comfort, so your hand won't cramp up while you are using it to toast marshmallows for hot cocoa or get the perfect finish on a lemon meringue pie. Two safety mechanisms ensure that you won't accidentally start a fire unintentionally, and you get peace of mind knowing it is safe during storage between uses. Because this torch looks attractive in addition to being functional, you can proudly use it at the table when you've got dinner guests. This chef's torch also makes a great gift for the avid home cook who already has all the basic kitchen necessities.

  • Creme Brulee

I needed a torch but did not need all the dishes and that is all I could find locally. Love the fuel gauge as my old one didn't have one and it sure is frustrating to run out of fuel when you need it. I also like the ease of use on this model.

    I recommend this product.

  • affordable high quality product

The Chef's Torch with Fuel Gauge is easy to use and fits in your hand comfortably. The easy to see fuel gauge takes the guess work out of deciding when its time to refuel. It would be nice if the torch held more butane, which would cut down on the amount of times it needs refilled. Other than that, it is a wonderful product.

    I recommend this product.

  • Did Not Live Up to Expectations

I looked on the Food Network website and was pleased to find this item so that I might use it for caramelizing creme brulee. Other reviews liked this unit for its durability and features, especially the site gauge for fuel in the handle. However, I must say that after using the product a total of once, it has steadfastly refused to light whenever I attempt to use it. I even tried lighting it with a candle-lighting butane lighter but to no avail. I have tried refilling it (multiple attempts at starting the torch will bleed off the fuel and I have tried different butane fuel all to no avail. On the odd occasion I can get the unit to produce a flame, it will nearly always go out while I am trying to use it as designed. Maybe I just got a lemon--it can happen with anything--but I would hesitate to recommend this product to anyone.
