A big cake stand, but not great

by Maria, MA
November 25, 2007

This cake stand is big enough to handle large and tall frosted cakes, and I like it because of that.

However, I don't like the plastic cover, which while sturdy, is not particularly attractive.

Anyway, for the money, it's a bargain that suited my need for a larger than average stand.

cake stand with cover

What drove me to search for an item like this was memories of my mother making a cake once a week for us kids and it would sit on the counter on her cake stand. I now make a cake a week for my son (lucky kid, I had to share with 3 other siblings, he only has to fight over this with his dad). It's perfect!

Just what I needed. Nice retro look, good size, well-made and lightweight. I was looking for a plastic (acrylic) lid, as I didn't want to have to lift a heavy glass lid like on other models I found while searching (nor did I want to have to worry about my kids trying to lift it and dropping it). Still looking for a cake plate to use on top of the stand so I don't actually cut cake slices on the stand itself.

Enjoy the diner look of the cake stand. have already had compliments on it. the guality seems to be in line with the price. i don't think i'll have any trouble with a taller cake fitting under the cover, there seems to be plenty of room. now all i have to do is bake one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tall enough

by Debbie, WA
August 24, 2008

It's hard to find a cakestand with height for oversized cakes, but this one works well for almost all cakes I've tried. It's not elegant, but more diner style, which works for most situations, if you get creative. It's the only widely available tall covered cakestand I've been able to find on the internet. Hope they keep it in stock for years to come.

Finally, a cake stand large enough!

by Linda, AR
January 5, 2010

After trying multiple cake stands in the past, this one does the trick. Homemade cakes are usually larger than purchased ones, and YES, they fit inside comfortably on the stand, and the lid also fits around the largest of cakes. WELL WORTH it if you like a good place to store your cakes!

simply put, its the best!

I waited a while before ordering this cake stand with cover. I just wanted to be sure. Well, this is the best cake stand and cover. The stand is very pleasing to look at on display and the best thing is the cover is not heavy, it is plastic. I tried the glass stands with the glass covers and nearly dropped the cover because it was sooooo heavy. I could just see me breaking it before getting a chance to use it. This stand and cover are just what I wanted. It also looks great on my table with my cake inside, on display. Even better is the fact that the top of the cake does not touch the lid at all. There is enough room for a four-tier cake to sit under the cover without touching the inside top of the lid. Simply put, it is the best.

Excellent purchase

by Deborah, IL
April 7, 2009

I wanted a cake stand with a cover that was tall enough to cover two layers plus a little more, and this does the job admirably. I looked at stands with glass covers, but knowing how heavy they can be and how clumsy we are, I opted for plastic instead. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend the product. I read a review earlier saying the cover cracked when the purchaser screwed in the handle, but the purchaser must have far more strength than I; my cover didn't crack when I screwed in the handle. This cake stand is far nicer than covering a dish with plastic wrap or foil, and has the added benefit of raising the baked goods off the counter so space under it can be used for something else -- handy in a very small galley kitchen like ours.

Very Stylish...

by Devon, NY

The cakes I make are a bit tall so this is the perfect stand for the job. Love the retro diner look to it as well.
When I'm not using it for cakes I put my fruit on it. It looks cute!

The height of the domed lid is higher than some so it works well for angel food cakes. Very attractive and good quality. Very pleased

Beautiful cake stand -- and with a clear plastic cover, which isn't easy to find! Much lighter than a glass cover. Perfect for my needs.

Best Value

I looked all over the web looking for a cake stand with this plastic cover and was unable to locate one for a decent price, including the S&H. When I received the Kraft magazine, and was going to look up something else, lo and behold there was this classic cake stand and cover on your website! What a pleasant surprise. Great value for the price! Thanks!

The best cake stand I have ever owned. This is large enough for the biggest cakes and looks great with my stainless steel appliances.

great size

September 22, 2010

I wanted a cover tall enough for tall cakes and this is perfect. I love it. The only thing I might change would be to make it flat on the counter with no pedestal, but it's great. I would buy this again if I needed another.

A Delightful Surprise!

by Gail, NC
November 24, 2010

I was a tad hesitant to purchase this but I desparately wanted a cake saver that you could see what you were having and that was tall enough for a 3 tier cake. What a delightful surprise! My glass saver had broken and I was heartbroken. When I opened the box I immediately was glad that it did break! This is well worth the money and I hope that it lasts forever. If not, I'll be back for another one! Thanks, Kraft!!!
