Guy The Great !

by Elisabeth, CO
December 3, 2008

My husband and I have both loved Guy since his initial debut on Next Food Network Star. The man just makes us happy. It is fun to have the book as a companion to the show as well as to try to make those tasty looking dishes. I am giving it as a gift to two more of his fans for Christmas.

Want More!

by Gary, AZ
December 3, 2008

I have watched the show and loved it from the very beginning. Guy makes me laugh and I have enjoyed seeing restaurants that I have been to along with others to try when I travel. I have in the past recorded episodes so I could replay it and jot down how the feature dishes are made so that I can try and re-create them at home. This cookbook is like "reading" a whole lot of episodes of the show. Great job and I will look forward to more if you decide to publish Volumes 2-?.

Guy Fieri is the best thing to happen to the Food Network since Emeril! He is just over- loaded with personality!! I'd just love to be part of his camera crew and go to all the places with him. I'm already waiting for the second book to come out...

Diners, Drive-ins, 'n Dives Cookbook

by Roy, WA
December 3, 2008

I just had to have this cookbook because I enjoy the Triple D show so much as I watch it every week. I liked that the book was more then just a cookbook full of recipes of places visited on the show. It was nice that it also has a little bit of the show's history, information about the people who work on the show, and several pictures of the places and people that were visited, along with wild man Guy of course. As the show continues, I hope that a volume two will eventually be produced. Roy Hagle Jr.

We got what we ordered, and it was as expected. I just wish there was a decent way to keep up on the status of the order. We were in Limbo until it arrived, althought I tried to find out.

Recipes

by Margaret, ID
December 8, 2008

I was disappointed in the recipe selection for this book. I got it for my teen age son who loves the program. I know he is going to be disappointed by the lack of diner like recipes. Otherwise it was interesting.

We were disappointed with the recipes in the book--there seem to be many more appetizing meals that Guy eats, but these recipes just don't seem to be them.

Makes a Nice Gift

by Rose, NY
December 22, 2008

I was actually expecting more recipes and less about the places I can't get to. We're going to use the book as a smaller x-mass gift for our daughter who loves the show.

3-D Cookbook

by Sherrill, PA
December 22, 2008

I enjoyed reading through this cookbook. It filled in some information that they don't have time to show on the actual show. It's also nice that they supplied the addresses of the diners. I just wish that they had printed more of the featured recipes, but I suppose space was limited.

GREAT SHOW!

by Joanna, NC
December 26, 2008

When I travel, I yearn to find out-of-the-way dives with great food such as Guy showcases on his show. Recommendations from locals are often good, sometimes iffy and sometimes downright awful. I feel as though I can trust Triple D and it even makes me want to travel to places I wouldn't ordinarily go. For example, I want some of that pit-cooked beef in Baltimore. I also have a recommendation: John G's on the beach in Lake Worth, FL. Great breakfast and fabulous lunches!

Love Guy Fieri!

by Mary Liz, WY
December 28, 2008

A fun book !!! I do wish it had color pictures and maps routing out the various DD&Ds. It would be fun to be able to jump in our street rod and take road trips to the eateries. I do like the breakdown into regions though and appreciated having the addresses of the various restaurants. If we are traveling to an unfamiliar area we always check to see if there is a diner we need to explore. Was disappointed we didn't find the Artichoke Soup recipe (and some others) amongst the ones included in the book. Guy needs to do a series of these books, they would be "money"!

content

I was not impressed by the recipes included in this cookbook. I think there were at least 3 mac and cheese recipes if not more. Very redundant or boring not unique, if he were to do another type of book it should include a map of the places mentioned and the foods that were featured on the show with at least one signature recipe from the show, I got the impression that some of the owners would not release some of their recipes.
