This book is okay but I was disappointed that it did not have more of the restaurants featured menu items. Most of the recipes are secondary menu items - not their main claims to fame. Its also a bother when a menu is provided that you have to order somebody's 'special seasoning' or 'secret sauce' from a website in order to prepare the recipe. I don't expect restauranteurs or chefs to give out recipes to their cash cows, but some of the recipes have little to do with what the DDD's are all about. So many of the chef/owners relate that being on triple D doubled or tripled their business. I'm sure they are also picking up some type of consideration from GF for inclusion in the book. They should be encouraged to open up a little more with the recipes that got them where they are. Those chefs who did provide main food recipes are classy folks and I'm grateful for their consideration and willingness to share a little of their success.

Diners, Drive-ins & Dives cookbook

December 3, 2008

This is a great cookbook. Easy to follow & fun to read. I think they might leave an ingredient (or 2) out from the original but it is good none the less. Great value.

Great book. Great pictures. Fantastic show. My family will love getting their cookbooks for Christmas because we all travel and we all watch the show. Some of us have gone out of our way to visit the restaurants that Guy has visited.

Demographics weren't there in this book

by T, OH

I think of this book as a "fun" book; something to pick up for some light reading and quick cooking enjoyment. I was somewhat disappointed that some states, like mine, were omitted. Now we're talking multistate "Road Trip" to sample the 3D's near me.

Guy

by Truman, OK
December 3, 2008

Looks like he is about the hottest thing you guys have a TFN. give him the keys to the car and and to the Network and you will get a rating growth like you never thought, since you do have quite a few lame duck shows i.e The nelleys, food decitive, road tested and a way to many challenge type of shows, you are about to look like the WWF of food tv. shape up. I now have 12 copys of this book for Christmas gifts, this is one 63 year old the go gettem GUY!! and to the food network what happened to all of your good shows, you just have a bunch of wanna bes, no cooking talent like when you started.
