Patrick and Gina Neely are owners of Neely’s Bar-B-Que in Memphis and Nashville and hosts of the Food Network series Down Home with the Neelys. They have been married since 1994 and live in Memphis with their two daughters (and scores of other kin nearby).
I have been looking forward to a cookbook by the Neelys ever since the show began. I love how much their love for one another shows in the food that is cooked and served.

For me, this is a great timesaver, rather than running to the computer every time I see a recipe I could use from their show. Most importantly, every recipe I've tried is just great and full of flavor....and easy to complete. Way to go!

I watch the program regularly and the pictures made one feel as if one had become a family member. The recipes are great. Many of them are like those of my parents and grandparents. Keep up the good work and I truly hope you put forth another great book. I told my brothers (I have 8) and found that 4 of them also ordered the book. Good Luck and keep up the good work.

My daughter loves your show and wanted the book so got it for her birthday, Dec 24th and she was surprised and had read it before the new year and will be cooking in the near future. The only problem was that you were out of the little pink piggy salt holder, I also love the pink piggy and have not ordered it yet. Keep up the good shows as we love watching all the love your family has.

For the first time cooking is to be enjoyed instead of a chore for me. I am very pleased with the cookbook and is looking forward to cooking some very special recipes which I know will get some rave reviews.

It is always interesting to read biographical information about the various chefs. The story of Pat and Gina is truly romantic. The format of the book meets the guidelines required for a good reference book as all cookbooks are essentially reference materials: food categories, specific dishes, and types of food. The paper is a good quality. The photographs are a nice blend of the whimsical, nostalgic, and practical in color, black & white, and sepia tones. The print format is easy on the eye. Because I use their recipes often,the cookbook saves my printer paper and ink. Before the cookbook, I constantly printed their recipes.

I truly enjoy how they share so much of themselves and their personal stories. Just every day people with a true passion for good food. It is fun reading a cookbook. The pages are filled with anicdotes, helpful hints and tips; they don't hold back. They are sharing their secrets as though you are part of their family. I really enjoy the homey, inviting, come and sit down and fill up feel that you get from this cookbook.

I have tried just about every recipe on thier down home episodes and they have all came out perfect and good tasting. My wife and I made our last thanksgiving and christmas dinners by following the neelys recipes and they were a hit. It was enjoyed by all our friends and family.
