I've owned a digital thermometer and loved it but it suddenly stopped working. I decided to go back to a more traditional tool. This Taylor meat thermometer is perfect. It's easy to read, accurate, cleans easily. Whether doing indirect grilling on my Weber or roasting in the oven it is an excellent choice. I recommend it. No negatives that I've discovered.

we do a lot of indirect heat with thick red meat, the temp is essential for the tenderness and these thermometers are great, we put them in the meat from start to finish

I live in a mostly rural area and I often cannot find the products that I want. Shopping on the internet is a must. My meat thermometer recently broke and I could not find it in any stores I went to. I found it in the Food Network Website. This thermometer is easy to use and very easy to read. I look forward to using it next time I roast a roast. Thanks for providing an exceptional product.

It's probably me, so excuse my ignorance, but I can't figure out how to calibrate it. What if it gets banged or something? There's no nut or screw in which to calibrate the thermometer. So, I am a little timid to use it for right now. I need to experiment with a few foods first.

The first thing I did was to test this thermometer. I put it in boiling water and waited for it to come up to temperature. The highest temperature it registered was 208 degrees. It should have come up to at least 211 degrees. We live about 500 feet above sea level so water boils here at just under 212 degrees. I won't use this thermometer since I don't believe it will accurately measure the temperature inside the meat. I'm disappointed since it was reviewed as being very accurate.

We love this thermometer! We can't believe how large the numbers are, and really like the adjustable red marker that we can set on the temp we want to reach.

Disapointing as it does not allow for calibration @ 212F. My guess is that is accurate enough, based on my limited experience.
