The convection oven bakes very well. My only complaint is that the unit gets very hot. It heats up my kitchen as much as my regular oven! It would be really nice to have more insulation in the unit. I realize it would make it larger, but it seems that the increased efficiency and the kitchen being cooler would be worth it.

the rack show rongs right side up should be up side down the pan worps after 1 use open the oven door and the pan will fly out! not good if hot who would cook a checken that size for 5hrs

Awesome mini oven

So far I'm enjoying my mini oven because I can bake my pizza and all other things in it, yeah! i don't have to borrow or used friends oven just to bake cookies. But there is slight problem. I thought I can fit the 13x9 inch bake glass in it, but I was wrong. It says in a comments or product information I can, I miss understood the fine print. I guess not! But I'm happy I can bake something in there without any fuss!

I cook with the oven once a week, on average, and so far it seems fine. I find that the convection feature makes meat a little too brown, so I turn the feature off before the completed cooking time.

bakes better than my regular oven

I baked 2 pans of muffins at the same time. The ones from this oven were perfect while the ones from my regular oven were dark on the bottom.

This is my second Calphalon Convection Oven. I still have the first one.
This one is going in my retirement home. The timer button broke
on the first one shortly after purchase. The new one seems to have
corrected that problem. Hope I will enjoy this one as much as the first
one.

Great energy save

Living alone, the option of heating the gas oven to cook a piece of fish or chicken seemed a waste of natural resources. The XL Digital Convection Oven heats up in far less time, gets the job done, and clean up is easy. The controls are easy to use and understand. And, it adds very little heat to the room. It is quickly becoming my favorite "small" appliance.

Good solution...

I wanted a convection over, not too large, and a toaster and something that would allow me to not turn the oven on much. I looked for a long while, I saw one that seemed PERFECT, till I saw the price of over $1100!
When I saw the Calphalon, I decided it was "near perfect". And it is.
I am having some difficulty in getting the hang of the programing of it, but that seems a matter of experience. Otherwise, it's meeting my needs beautifully.

This is a great addition to my kitchen. It's convenient and it heats fast. It also cooks faster than my oven so cook time needs to be adjusted a bit. And it looks great too!

Great augmentation to your current stove

I have only had my oven for a few weeks and have only used it twice. Both times were for items that I had to get into the oven but there were no spots available in my primary oven. The items cooked evenly and efficiently. I am a little surprised at the lack of an OFF button which is the ONLY reason I have for not giving this a full FIVE on the overall rating.
I cooked bacon covered asparagus and cheesy potatoes with no issues and in the same manner as my primary stove. The deal was great and the oven is a very nice addition to my counter space. Very easy to use and easy on the eye!

Easy to use. Love the big handle. You can select how many slices of toast you want. It think was worth the money, since there's only 2 people in my house. Now I don't have to use my big oven anymore.
