Such a timesaver!

I make a lot of scones and biscuits, all of which need to have butter cut up into small chunks. I can accomplish this quickly, neatly and without greasy hands by making use of this excellent butter slicer. This is a sturdy kitchen tool, with strong wire that cuts even quite hard butter. Of course, I can slice butter pats for use with the slicer once my scones or biscuits have been removed from the oven. A very useful tool!

I have used a butter slicer for several years, my old one was a cheap flimsy one, I was in the market for something more sturdy. The one I purchased from Cooking.com is very well made and is 18/10 stainless! As well as slicing butter I have used it for slicing cheese. I like this slicer so well that I purchased 5 to give as gifts.This is a great buy.

It 'a butter slicer so...

I bought one not really all that long ago and the wire broke ( yes, I let the butter warm a litle) so that's why another one.

Haven't had a chance to use this product as yet so really can't give you much of a review.

Nice product

This butter slicer is a very nice kitchen tool. The precise measurements are ideal for that , "Just a pat" of butter for your bread or for use in baking when you need to just add a little at a time. Either use you will be very pleased with this item. No problem so far with it being washed in the dishwasher.

Item works great. It's easy to use and washes well. I bought one for myself and one as a gift.

I have another butter slicer but it is not stainless steel.........the new one, being stainless steel did not turn black when placed int he dishwasher.

Add that extra touch

Having the butter on your table sliced into uniform pats adds an extra touch that is hard not to notice. You will be surprised how many of your guests will ask you about this. Need butter at room temperature when baking? Did you forget to get it out of the frig? This will help you out... I had my last one for twenty years! Talk about a bargain.

Past vs. Present

My original butter slicer is over 40 years old. A few years ago, the wire broke and we replaced it with a guitar string. At that time, I purchased about one-half dozen slicers and gave all but one away as gifts. I couldn't find it and purchased two more so that if and when my original slicer broke, I would have a new one to fall back on. Each generation of slicer since my original has gotten thinner, more light weight and probably more likely to "break" or bend when slicing through cold butter or margarine. Yet, the price has more than tripled over the years. Why were manufacturers able to produce better products than are being produced today?

Works like a breeze and handy to have around

I have been looking for one of these and found it on Cooking.com. It works like a breeze and is so handy. Now whenever I need a tablespoon of butter for a recipe or for cooking I know just how much to use when I have an already-in-use stick of butter. It is also great if you are making something like biscuits where you need to manually cut the butter into the flour mixutre; makes it very easy (I don't use my food processor for this because I don't want all the cleanup!) Finally, it helps me and my family to more easily control butter portions. Great product!

Butter Slicer slices it !!

This is an attractive addition to my kitchen tools and one of the most useful. It makes the butter look far more attractive to set on the table, presliced. It also makes it far easier to use when a recipe calls for 1 or 2 TBs. of butter. It's definitely a 10-Plus!!!
