This modern cheese slicer is made from 18/10 stainless steel and given a satin finish. Instead of the single wire utilized by most cheese slicers, this one has a sharp, solid stainless steel blade for cutting through a variety of cheeses. The 7 x 5.25-in. base is perfectly sized to hold a standard block of cheese while the 7.75-in. long curved handle offers substantial leverage and a comfortable grip. On the bottom of the cheese slicer are four non-skid grips to prevent slipping. Dishwasher-safe.

  • Material: Stainles Steel
  • Origin: China
  • Size/Capacity: 7-in. l x 5.25-in. w x 1-in. h. The blade is 4.5-in. the handle is 7.75-in.
  • Special Features: New knife-blade design for hard cheeses
  • MOST HELPFUL REVIEWS:

  • Overall excellent! A little finesse is necessary for the desired cut, but it is head and shoulders above other cheese slicers. I use this item daily and prefer it to any other slicer or knife I have used previously.

    I recommend this product.

  • Blade design works well and the handle provides an excellent weight balance. Compact design is greatly for storage.

  • This cheese slicer is very cheaply made. When trying to slice a block of hard cheese the base will flex and bend. So poorly made I couldn't give it to a friend for christmas. I had to return it and am still waiting for a refund or credit.

  • stainless steel cheese slicer great value !

We looked all over to find a cheese slicer that wouldn't fall apart as easily as the wire ones available in local stores. this slicer is similar to the ones I used to own in Europe - but better because itis all stainless steel, not wood, and because it is an USA product. Thanks Foodnetwork!

    I recommend this product.

  • Fair Cheese Slicer

The slicer DOES work - BUT- with a slab of cheese as shown in the picture - YOU MUST HOLD THE OTHER END in order to slice the cheese. Possibly half the height would work better. If they had placed some "roughness" on the bottom (where cheese sits) - It might have stayed better. I believe you MUST hold the cheese with a GOOD GRIP in order to slice cheese.
Worked well and cleaned very well if you are willing to grasp the cheese with a firm hand.

  • Cheese slicer

Finally a cheese slicer that is more like a knife but easier to use for making thinner slices. Only downside that I have found is that it is harder to use on softer cheese, but will still work until the end of the block.

    I recommend this product.

  • Needs some improvements

I like this slicer better than the wire ones, which did not last more than 3 or 4 wire changes.
This one needs to be at least 10% wider It also needs some way of stabilizing the cheese while cutting. Cheese seems to want to twist on the smooth surface.

    I recommend this product.

  • purchased as a gift

I bought this as a gift for my son & daughter-in-law. I was happy with it when I saw it and they seemed to be as well. they had already went through a couple cheese slicers, one that didn't last a month. This one even looks good for serving.

    I recommend this product.

  • Nice Cheese Slicer

Overall, this is a very nice cheese slicer. The metal blade allows you to cut the hardest of cheeses.

However, because of its small size and smooth surface, it is a bit challenging to cut large, pie-shaped cheeses. The problem is that the cheese moves while you are slicing, thus making it difficult to stabalize. Getting the first slice was the biggest challenge. After several attempts, I decided to first cut the cheese in half with a large knife, thus reducing the angle by half and making it easier to slice.

Once getting the hang of it and even with this one small annoyance, I still like the slicer and look forward to many more slices.

    I recommend this product.

  • Cheese Slicer

I do not like the wire-cutter type cheese slicers and this is the only cheese slicer that fits what I have been looking for. The blade slices through cheese very easily and you don't have to worry about a wire breaking.

  • cheese slices

This slicer bent at the first slice through the cheddare cheese, not worth the time or effort to use again. I feel I should have gotten all my shipping back also since it did not slice at all!!!! without bending and almost breaking.

  • A different cheese slicer

This slicer uses a blade, unlike most which use a wire. It feels a bit different and that takes getting used to. But I really like the increased durability. (I bought this to replace one whose wire broke.) I also like the fact that is is stainless steel. That looks attractive, wears well and is dishwasher safe. Finally, a blade, unlike a wire, can be sharpened.

    I recommend this product.

  • Unhappy with the size and construction

I bought this slicer to use cutting Med Cheddar Cheese. I can't even get a slice of cheese off of my block because the slicer is not big enough. I have to come around it 3 times from different angles to make it work and then it just breaks off on the last end. Not very useful for sandwhich slices. Also the blade seems to grate against the steel on the bottom making a horrid noise.
