Cheese Slicer

by Karen, CA

I love this! No more breaking skinny little wires and searching to find a new cheese slicer! My experience with poor products at BB&B prompted me to go to Cooking.com! It looks great and works great and should last for many years.

A different cheese slicer

by Su Ellen, NY

This slicer uses a blade, unlike most which use a wire. It feels a bit different and that takes getting used to. But I really like the increased durability. (I bought this to replace one whose wire broke.) I also like the fact that is is stainless steel. That looks attractive, wears well and is dishwasher safe. Finally, a blade, unlike a wire, can be sharpened.

purchased as a gift

I bought this as a gift for my son & daughter-in-law. I was happy with it when I saw it and they seemed to be as well. they had already went through a couple cheese slicers, one that didn't last a month. This one even looks good for serving.

Needs some improvements

by Bill, CA
August 12, 2009

I like this slicer better than the wire ones, which did not last more than 3 or 4 wire changes.
This one needs to be at least 10% wider It also needs some way of stabilizing the cheese while cutting. Cheese seems to want to twist on the smooth surface.

Cheese slicer

Finally a cheese slicer that is more like a knife but easier to use for making thinner slices. Only downside that I have found is that it is harder to use on softer cheese, but will still work until the end of the block.

stainless steel cheese slicer great value !

by Molly, CA
December 24, 2009

We looked all over to find a cheese slicer that wouldn't fall apart as easily as the wire ones available in local stores. this slicer is similar to the ones I used to own in Europe - but better because itis all stainless steel, not wood, and because it is an USA product. Thanks Foodnetwork!

Not easy to use. Does not slice cheese easily. I have gone back to using a knife. Very disappointed.

The RSVP cheese slicer is far and above all others we have had. The slicers with a wire cutter was O K but, it was impossible to replace the wire. Subsequently we threw it away for it was stripped out. The wires for replacement were too short.
We love our new cheese slicer thanks for such a quality product. S. E. Cohlmia Wichita KS

Not only is this slicer a better performer than the ones that use a wire, at cooking.com it is half the price of your competitors.

It didn't perform as well as the wire type cutters on cheddar and similar cheeses. Very good on softer cheeses.

Very attractive, well-made, good price. I bought this because the traditional wire-based slicers don't do very well with harder cheeses. Unfortunately, neither does this bladed model - the blade bows toward the handle instead of upward as wires do, so you don't get a good cut. Also, the surface is a bit slick compared to a plastic-blocked model, making it difficult to hold the cheese. Again, with softer cheeses, not a problem, but then you get more cheese sticking to the blade than you would a wire as well.

Cheese slicer that should last

by Patricia, FL
February 9, 2012

That is why I bought it, cause most cheese slicers break quickly.
