The RSVP International Endurance Cheese Slicer makes quick work of slicing most kinds of cheeses for everything from sandwiches to cheese platters. A satin finish accents the unit's contemporary appearance, helping it fit with modern tools and kitchen decor. A durable base holds cheese in place as you cut, adding to overall safety and making it easier to gauge just the right amount of food for use in dishes or platters. A comfortable grip allows you to use the slicer many times without undue stress or strain, and the long handle delivers superb leverage for high-quality cutting work. Nonslip pads on the bottom of the sturdy base grip your counter to prevent slippage, and dishwasher-safe materials simplify cleaning.
Best Used For:
Use the cheese slicer to prepare your favorite cheeses. Cut squares to put in finger sandwiches at parties or prepare cheese easily to serve alongside nuts and small fruits. The slicer makes quick work of cutting larger blocks of cheese for grilled cheese sandwiches and hamburgers. The versatile tool works well for other semisoft foods, including pate and truffles.

Overall excellent! A little finesse is necessary for the desired cut, but it is head and shoulders above other cheese slicers. I use this item daily and prefer it to any other slicer or knife I have used previously.
This cheese slicer is very cheaply made. When trying to slice a block of hard cheese the base will flex and bend. So poorly made I couldn't give it to a friend for christmas. I had to return it and am still waiting for a refund or credit.
Overall, this is a very nice cheese slicer. The metal blade allows you to cut the hardest of cheeses.
However, because of its small size and smooth surface, it is a bit challenging to cut large, pie-shaped cheeses. The problem is that the cheese moves while you are slicing, thus making it difficult to stabalize. Getting the first slice was the biggest challenge. After several attempts, I decided to first cut the cheese in half with a large knife, thus reducing the angle by half and making it easier to slice.
Once getting the hang of it and even with this one small annoyance, I still like the slicer and look forward to many more slices.
I do not like the wire-cutter type cheese slicers and this is the only cheese slicer that fits what I have been looking for. The blade slices through cheese very easily and you don't have to worry about a wire breaking.
This slicer bent at the first slice through the cheddare cheese, not worth the time or effort to use again. I feel I should have gotten all my shipping back also since it did not slice at all!!!! without bending and almost breaking.
This slicer uses a blade, unlike most which use a wire. It feels a bit different and that takes getting used to. But I really like the increased durability. (I bought this to replace one whose wire broke.) I also like the fact that is is stainless steel. That looks attractive, wears well and is dishwasher safe. Finally, a blade, unlike a wire, can be sharpened.
I love this! No more breaking skinny little wires and searching to find a new cheese slicer! My experience with poor products at BB&B prompted me to go to Cooking.com! It looks great and works great and should last for many years.
I bought this slicer to use cutting Med Cheddar Cheese. I can't even get a slice of cheese off of my block because the slicer is not big enough. I have to come around it 3 times from different angles to make it work and then it just breaks off on the last end. Not very useful for sandwhich slices. Also the blade seems to grate against the steel on the bottom making a horrid noise.
Very attractive, well-made, good price. I bought this because the traditional wire-based slicers don't do very well with harder cheeses. Unfortunately, neither does this bladed model - the blade bows toward the handle instead of upward as wires do, so you don't get a good cut. Also, the surface is a bit slick compared to a plastic-blocked model, making it difficult to hold the cheese. Again, with softer cheeses, not a problem, but then you get more cheese sticking to the blade than you would a wire as well.
